Hotel Irena

The property was clean, cosy, and in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was good!

Spacious and well equipped room that feels like a little apartment. Table and electric plugs well positioned, which makes it easy to work on the computer. Very good breakfast.

The shower is a little small.

The proximity to the train station is why I booked it and the included breakfast (there is a menu with 3 options to choose from. I’m vegetarian and they were able to accommodate my requests very easily without any problem which was great. The room was very clean and check in was smooth, the staff on duty was very kind and friendly and the breakfast was quite tasty. I had food deliveries and the reception always notified me by text message when the delivery arrived and this was appreciated rather than calling up to the room. The room is also very quiet and sound proofed, I didn’t really hear anyone else the entire time except some noise from the street (only because I had my window opened a crack).

It’s an old hotel (but I’ve stayed in other old hotels in Ukraine for the same price that had much better facilities, being an old hotel really isn’t an excuse). There is no elevator which wasn’t a terrible problem for me, I can walk up stairs without difficulty. The nuisance however was the lack of electrical outlets near the bed. The only outlets were behind the tv (used for the tv) and by the door and in the bathroom. I like to be able to charge my phone and iPad and have it nearby when I wake up, it’s just a simple convenience that’s easy to take for granted. If they could fix this it would make their property much much better.
