Canal Hideaway

Great location. David was exceptionally helpful.

The rooms were a little small and during the heatwave it was a little too hot without airconditioning

The location was superb, and it was amazing to stay in an authentic house on a canal. Good facilities, nice comfy bed and David was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Only criticism I have is that we didn’t have a view of the canal, which was very disappointing! Our view was of a dark storage area, which on one hand was ok as our stay was during a heatwave, but also frustrating as we had assumed we’d have a canal view.

A quiet house in a peaceful, friendly area within walking distance of the station and all the main museums and sights, even for us 80 year olds. David greeted us outside with a wave and pointed out a great breakfast venue and Dutch bar on the next corner which we returned to each day. He carried our cases up the steps and to our ground floor room at the back, so no steep stairs. It was an excellent start to our holiday. Thank you so much.

We stayed in the Hideaway room (no canal view) David was a brilliant host. Cute room in a great location, perfect for exploring Amsterdam! The room surprisingly stayed cool in the summer heat and was excellent value. Would highly recommend.

The room didn’t have an iron and ironing board, but I’m sure if I’d asked, David would have got one, as he was incredibly helpful.
