About this house rental
THE ACCOMMODATION
Built around 1760, this private house (340 m²) steeped in history had remained unoccupied until now. With a little love and care, it has since regained its former glory, with its original architecture, Hungarian or upright wooden floors, monumental spiral staircase and characterful features. Today, the property has a CHAMPAGNE theme and features an eclectic mix of French antiques, contemporary pieces and Moroccan touches. On four different levels...
On the ground floor, you will find a majestic living room with sofas, coffee tables and a piano, as well as a small library and a hidden bar for tasting enthusiasts. You will also find the SUMMER DINING ROOM with its period natural stone floor, a small electric wine cellar, fridge and a fireplace for cool summer evenings. This space gives direct access to the shaded PATIO in the private courtyard.
The spiral stone staircase in the entrance hall leads to the next three floors:
→ 1st FLOOR: Here you will find the FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN with sink, table and chairs, 2 refrigerators, 1 gas stove with several ovens, 2 dishwashers, 1 large pantry and all the equipment you need to prepare meals. The kitchen offers direct access to the FIRST FLOOR TERRACE with sun loungers, parasols and an outdoor dining area for 10/12 people. It is the ideal place for breakfast or OPEN-AIR CINEMA evenings with our 4K WiFi video projector, which you can project onto the courtyard wall. There is also the WINTER DINING ROOM, which can seat 12 people, and the first of our bedrooms: the Rose Moët bedroom (with its own private bathroom). The ROSÉ MOÊT ET CHANDON SUITE has a luxurious queen-size bed (160 cm), a wonderful claw-foot bathtub, toilet and washbasin.
→2nd FLOOR: On one side, you will find the POMMERY ROOM (30m²), with a luxurious queen-size bed (160cm) and a claw-foot bathtub in the bedroom, and a separate bathroom with toilet, washbasin and shower. This separate bathroom can be shared with the GASCOGNE BEDROOM (24m²), which has an impressive vintage French double bed (140cm) (the Gascogne bedroom can also use the private bathroom located on the first floor).
On the other side of the landing is the VEUVE CLICQUOT SUITE (40 m²), with two bedrooms: one has a single bed, while the master bedroom has a magnificent French double bed (140 cm), a sitting area and an en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin.
→3rd FLOOR: On the top floor, you will find the TAITTINGER SUITE (70m²), which occupies the entire floor. It comprises a separate bedroom with a single bed and a sitting area leading to the master bedroom, where you will find a luxurious queen-size bed (160 cm), a dressing table and an interesting wardrobe. Both bedrooms have magnificent views of Saint-Michel Church and the rustic French tiled roofs. The spacious, separate bathroom is equipped with a large central claw-foot bathtub, toilet, washbasin, wardrobe and a second dressing table.
All our rooms are comfortable and well appointed. With interesting décor, the rooms have a large wardrobe and plenty of storage space, quality linen, towels, bathrobes, Wi-Fi connection, etc.
Outside, you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the ENCLOSED COURTYARD (100m2), with our small above-ground SWIMMING POOL (3.5 m * 2 m - depth: 0.80cm) for splashing around and cooling off, a rockery with stairs leading to the first-floor terrace, and of course our covered patio with French/Moroccan vintage touches, featuring an outdoor kitchen area with sink, refrigerator, plancha grill, as well as a table, chairs and a lounge area with armchairs and sofas.
When you leave the CHAMPAGNE HOUSE, you will immediately find a 24-hour grocery store, bars, the Baise River, restaurants, a cinema, a theatre, a local distillery, etc. A little further away, you can access the town centre with its magnificent Saint-Pierre Cathedral and the statue of the four musketeers. There are also supermarkets and a twice-weekly market nearby for all your food shopping needs.
