Location - village is lovely, great pubs and places to eat. Visit the local store, the owner is a gem.
The cottage itself is very authentic. Lots of books and a radio, perfect. We felt like we were staying at an old friends house.

Scalby village is an location was excellent.
Atmospheric and somewhat like going back in time. I was born in the 1950s. The 'wireless' and plentiful books & decor added to the experience. The kitchen was small but packed in a washing machine, dryer, dish washer, fridge, microwave, 4 slice toaster and air fryer.
No sink in the kitchen. Cutlery tray needed a clean.
