About this house rental
Enjoy the comforts of a private suite in an occupied home with separate entrance and side yard. House is located in South Anchorage with views of the Chugach Mountains and Turnagain Arm. A 15-minute drive from the airport and immediate access to the Seward Highway to take you south to Girdwood or north to Denali, wherever your travel adventures take you. One bedroom with ¾ bath and a half kitchen with an induction countertop electric burner. Fresh Alaskan coffee in K-cup or beans to grind to suit your taste. Kitchen area has all the amenities if you'd like to make a home-cooked meal. This suite is also the perfect set-up if you're just needing an overnight stay. The host thought of everything. There were many thoughtful extras that were made available to and for us to use (if we chose to). Extras such as binoculars and a backpack for day trips and a reusable (cloth) shopping bag for food runs. This property is centrally located for trips to Anchorage, the scenic highways, and excursions. I was there for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The host has a plethora of information about alaska and available 'things to do'. If/when I come back to Alaska, this is where I would stay!!

I want to give this unit higher rating. The owner showed real effort in making the unit a comfortable and relaxing place with a well stocked mini kitchen and bathroom. The unit is also clean and well laid out. The overall setup is done well and we enjoyed this portion. However, the unit is very prone to noise at night, including gurgling of the pipes, expansion/contraction sounds, and other sounds throughout the night, making undisturbed sleep almost impossible. If you are sensitive to noise like I am, I would suggest to take that into consideration.
