Queens mount Ridge

It’s a great location to get down to Lake Kandy if you prefer to walk, and great views from the hotel, friendly staff and good breakfast.

The curtains aren’t blackout so light gets in with the morning sunrise. There are open vents built into the windows so it can be a bit noisy with passing traffic (albeit it is off the main road which is good)

The hotel was alright. The rooms were good and decently sized. The pool was the best thing about this hotel for my family. The children really enjoyed their time in the pool. The staff were also cooperative when their attention was called and the views were really beautiful.

What I did not like was how many ants there were in the room and everywhere. You eat anywhere and drop a crumb, an army of ants will crawl out of somewhere there. Another problem was that the bathroom had no slope for water to drain. Every time my family would use it, the water would accumulate near the door and wash basin and would go nowhere. I myself slipped and then looked for wipers in the night and in the morning to make the bathroom dry. The location was up on the mountain and climbing the steep way was not for the kids or old. Once you were in the hotel, you were essentially locked-in with kids without a car or tuk-tuk. There was no easy walk for the family to get out to the lake and explore with just walking.

The rooms weren’t very clean. The towels and the linen were stained and smelled as though they hadn’t been cleaned. The rooms weren’t clean and the budget room had no AC.

It was a peaceful place and we were lucky to meet Ruwan, our tour agent. He help us a lot and we enjoy every tour and visit he arranged for us.

The breakfast did not meet our expectation. Too much stairs to reach the top for breakfast and the hotel location was not convenient. No TV, no air conditioning and no laundry services. The hotel needs good renovations.
