Great Family home in the heart of Carlsbad. We had a large family group staying at the house over the 4th. We were able to get to Tamarack beach with ease. Large yard with plenty of activities, BBQ, spend time with family. The home has everything you need for a large family gathering.

The house was more than large enough for all of us to stay. All the amenities we needed in a quiet setting with little distractions. GREAT. Place for a family getaway.

The house was roomy enough to comfortably accommodate eight adults and seven children (ages 2-8). The backyard is the showpiece of the property. The family enjoyed basketball, resting on the hammock, running around on turf grass, grilling, and socializing as a family.
The disappointment was is the cleanliness of the house. We had ants in all the rooms, the living room area rug was vacuumed three times by one of my children because there was visible pet hair and debris. The vacuum canister had to be emptied four times! The family room furniture was very filthy, stained, and worn.
We were also surprised to find that the upper floor above the garage had a renter living there. Although he had his own entrance to his apartment, we were startled to see him walking in the driveway to his apartment when we were there. My children and their children felt uncomfortable knowing that they had someone else on the property who had a clear sight into the house and backyard. It would have been good to know that information in the listing before we reserved the house.
Although the listing had numerous photos, not all of them represented what we had when we were there. Several photos were of the apartment above the garage (converted to a bedroom).
The house location was ideal for our family needs to visit the San Diego Zoo and Safari as well as the Tamarack Beach, and area restaurants.
