Ladera Retreat Lodges

Stunning interior, amazing view of the waterfall from hot tub and inside the lodge

Nothing would definitely go back

We absolutely loved our stay at Ladera. The lodge was perfectly tidy and clean when we arrived, with tea, coffee, milk and sugar already stocked! The staff were lovely and informative when we needed them, but hands-off enough that we didn't feel stifled. The park itself is gorgeous, lovely to walk around, and in a lovely, quiet location. Loved stargazing in the hot tub at night! There is a £250 security deposit, but while other reviews mentioned a delay in getting their deposit back, we got ours back straight away on the same day we left, so no problems there for us! Thank you for a great stay.

There's not much I can criticise, to be honest. I would just warn people that the roads to get to the park are very narrow country roads, so if you're not a confident rural driver, that's something to bear in mind. I'm not sure about public transport, but the park is close enough to a few towns that amenities aren't an issue (it's only 10 mins in the car to the nearest supermarket!)

Lovely tranquil location

The lodge itself was nice , we stayed in Lodge One. Dressing gowns a nice touch as well as little bottles of shampoo left on your towel.

It needs a deep clean not just what the eyes can see , yes we was staying in a forest but the amount of cobwebs and spiders actually in the lodge means it doesn't get deep cleaned. Even the decking was full of berries and twigs , which I brushed away once we arrived on the Friday and yes by the time we left on the Monday morning there was a few more but no where near the amount I originally brushed away , plus there where leaves in the actual Hot Tub as well. Then I nearly fell through the master bedroom bed , we lifted the mattress 3 slats was on the floor and one was actually missing means that once I fixed the slats there was still an indent in the bed, plus there was dirty socks and flower petals under the bed so that hadn't been cleaned either but I guess I know how the bed broke. Only 2 bath towels for 4 people. Post code didn't take you to the lodge so had to ask a farmer for the directions ( in which she smiled as she gets asked all the time )
