Pauls Retreat Wayanad , Family Resort

Beautiful family-owned resort on a hilltop, surrounded by coffee and fruit plantations. Despite the listing, there is WiFi in every room. Waking up to peacocks in the garden was magical. Close to caves, waterfalls, and a local kalari. The family treats you like one of their own — we even went out together. Kitchen, washing machine, lovely rooftop terrace, and even a pet cow. What more do you need?

I had a truly memorable stay at Paul’s Retreat, Wayanad, where we spent two peaceful nights surrounded by nature. The property itself is serene, spacious, and beautifully maintained. With a large garden, open common areas, a well-equipped kitchen, and a cozy dining space, it instantly gives you a feeling of calm and comfort. The rooms were neat, clean, and thoughtfully arranged, making our stay very comfortable. Being surrounded by lush coffee estates only added to the charm and freshness of the place. What truly made our stay exceptional was our host, Benny uncle. He is an incredibly kind, humble, and warm person. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel at home. We hadn’t planned any itinerary for Wayanad, but he personally curated a perfect plan for all three days, especially keeping in mind the Christmas holiday rush. He guided us to beautiful offbeat locations that were less crowded yet absolutely mesmerizing. He also helped us with food recommendations. As vegetarians, it can sometimes be challenging to find good veg options in new places, but Benny uncle ensured we never had to worry about that. Additionally, his local knowledge was invaluable—he even suggested which roads to take and which ones to avoid, as Google Maps sometimes recommends routes that are not in great condition. We genuinely enjoyed our conversations with him. He is a true gentleman, and his hospitality added a personal and heartfelt touch to our entire experience. If you are looking to escape city traffic, slow down, and live in peace amidst nature, I would highly recommend Paul’s Retreat. I absolutely loved my stay here and would love to come back again.
