This family and pet-friendly rental has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and comfortably accommodates 8 guests. Beautiful living spaces, an upgraded kitchen, private bedrooms, and a huge backyard entertaining area provide plenty of space for everyone to feel at home. With proximity to the beach added in, there is no better place to spend your next holiday.
The Space:
Kookaburra Hideaway is tucked away in a lovely residential neighbourhood, wonderful for families with children or those looking for a quiet place to retreat. Indoors, the spacious two-story residence provides all the comfortable features holiday travellers are looking for and the surrounding outdoor entertaining patio and lawns are brilliant for children’s play or even keeping an eye out for a visiting kookaburra or two.
A modern kitchen full of natural light is nicely equipped for cooking complete meals, with a pass-through to the covered patio for easy serving to the outdoor dining area. The adjacent cozy living room features a Smart TV for streaming your favorite shows or hosting a family movie night.
Each of the 4 bedrooms is styled with soothing tones to relax both the mind and body. Adults have their choice of king, queen, and double beds and the kids always have a great time sleeping in the bunk room. A safety gate securely closes off the top of the stairs for peace of mind when little ones are in residence.
Need to check in with the office or finish up an assignment? Virtual commuters and students alike will appreciate the quiet dedicated workspace on the second floor and blazing fast Wi-Fi throughout the home.
Outdoor entertaining is quite fun here, with a large, covered patio that has dining for 8 and a comfortable conversation area. Grill dinner in the shade on the BBQ or relax with a refreshing drink on the couch while keeping an eye on the kids playing in the fully fenced backyard.

The guest can get access to the property through a Lockbox with keys to the house
Other Things to Note:
Kookaburra Hideaway has a private driveway, accommodating parking for up to 2 vehicles. Additional vehicles may park on the street, however, please do not block or park in neighbouring driveways.
There is a $30 surcharge per pet for all pets of any type/size. Host must be notified at the time of booking if you intend to bring a pet. Guests bringing unauthorized pets on property may be assessed a penalty.
We hope you have lots of laughter and fun times during your holiday! However, as Kookaburra Hideaway is in a residential area guests must be mindful and keep noise to a minimum, especially during nighttime hours.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. Very comfortable and nicely furnished, fabulous deck, massive backyard. It’s also in a great spot with a short under 10 min walk to the most peaceful beach. Loved it and hope to come back again one day. Thank you!

Pros:
The location was great, walkable to a local beach.
Great outdoor patio.
Good hotwater system.
House was clean and well maintained.
Internet was strong but weak out on the patio.
Weber BBQ was clean and in good order.
Cons:
House was smaller than expected (wide angle lenses in listing photos)
TV reception was constantly dropping signal. Has a settop box receiver than always needed fiddling to get get signal. Settop remote never worked, had to manually change channels (no instructions provided).
Cook top was induction and there were only 2 induction pots that were suitable. All other pots did not work with the cooktop.
Weber BBQ, but no tongs, but has a flipper utensil only.
Was advised there was a room on ground floor, but all rooms were upstairs (elderly parents struggled with the stairs)
Advised there were fans in all rooms, no fans in the house were found. Owner offered to supply fans through email communication , but never delivered as promised.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! There was some confusion with the key code but host was available via phone on first ring to assist (suggest noting their number down before arriving as mobile coverage caused us to be stuck for a while with slow connection to log in and access their number). House was as advertised. Everything we needed and expected was available, nothing required heavy cleaning before use. Designed for families with young kids inclusive as I felt safe for my toddler to run around the back and the rest of house as there were gates and fences that would stop them from accessing anywhere unsafe. It's definitely a wonderful home away from home, in an excellent location. Will be saving this as favourite for returning for future visits to the island!
