The property is small but very well appointed with a beautiful view from the dining area / pool overlooking an adjacent rice field and river valley. We were very fortunate to have Ade take care of us, as well as Name in the dining area. They both took extra time to make sure we had everything we wanted and were so gracious with their time. We took several tours and had Rana as our driver and Arim as our guide. They were both outstanding and really fun to spend the day with. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The private pool was great in the "Fire" suite, although to be honest it could have been cool and I would have enjoyed it as much as I did with it heated.

It was my own mistake but I thought the hotel was walkable to central Ubud. Although I think you could technically do this, there really aren't sidewalks so you're better off getting a ride.

Everything was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived until our departure, the Uma Kalai team were fabulous. Our room was beautiful with exceptional views of the mountains. It was cleaned and prepared, twice daily and was always immaculate. Breakfast was superb and we took at least 1-2 hrs each day, to just relax and enjoy this particular time of day 😊 The spa and massages were so good with plenty of choices & the gym had a variety of equipment. The location is great too.

Breakfast was fresh and really good, and I felt very well looked after with my food sensitivities. The location is stunning, peaceful, and perfect for switching off. The villas and rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and feel very private.

No major negatives at all, it was a really lovely stay. If anything, just be aware the peaceful location means it’s a little tucked away, but that’s part of the charm.
