Martha is absolutely fantastic. She communicated extremely well, providing a video with directions so the apartment, and greeted us upon arrive. Additionally, she provided us with ideas for hiking, tours, restaurants, and answered multiple questions we had throughout our stay.

Would highly recommend

The property is amazing! It was clean, comfortable and the view from our room was spectacular. The room had all the amenities you would need. Martha was wonderful and so helpful in terms of giving us recommendations, booking us on a boat trip and offering to make restaurant reservations for us, she was always available by WhatsApp and it really did make the stay seamless. All round an incredible place to stay and I would highly recommend!

Pour commencer la chambre est parfaite. Mon seul regret est de ne pas avoir réservé plus tôt pour avoir une vue sur le village. Mais nous avons énormément apprécié le patio privé. Ensuite évidement l’accueil de Martha est chaleureux et son service est irréprochable. Nous n’avons jamais été aussi bien reçu. Martha vous organise votre parcours selon vos envies et la durée de votre séjour. Il n’y a rien à réfléchir et tout est absolument parfait. Suivez tous ses conseils, vous ne serez pas déçus.

Martha's apartment is just amazing. Not only is the apartment perfectly located, very clean and very comfortable, with all the amenities you could ask for, but staying with Martha is like staying with a dear friend. She welcomes you personally, shows you the ropes on how to get around Cinque Terre, suggests restaurants and even books the best table for you. She is truly the best host we've ever had. Our stay at The Upper House was short but unforgettable – especially thanks to our host, Martha She was super friendly, helpful, and full of energy. From the moment we checked in, she welcomed us with a warm smile and gave us great tips: from boat trips along the coast to train rides between the Cinque Terre villages – including help with booking and using the Cinque Terre Card. Thanks to her recommendations, we were able to make the most of our day. Martha truly knows all the beautiful spots in the region and shares her knowledge with genuine enthusiasm. Wish we had stayed at least another night!

This is a beautiful set of apartments/rooms. Very clean and modern, with everything you need for your stay. Martha is an amazing host and offered a complete outline and recommendations on how to make the most of our short stay in Riomaggiore. We traveled as a family of five, and booked two rooms. Each was unique and beautifully-appointed. I would absolutely love to go back and stay at the Upper House.

It’s a steep haul up to the property. If you have more than a day pack, use the available porter Martha offers.

Martha is the best . The location is amazing

Martha completely made our short time in Cinque Terra Not only was she waiting for us when we arrived to help with a parking “Snafuu” , but she helped us make the most of our time there She told us what to do on the towns She booked us the sunset tour which was breathtaking She recommended two great dinner places She helped us navigate the trains , towns . Etc AMAZING service that felt like we were part of the family To say I would “highly recommend” the place and Martha would be an understatement …… She made our time there the best experience possible I will also say that Rommagio is in my view the best place of the towns to stay Just a bit quieter and less “beachy”

Highly recommend this Airbnb and would absolutely return!

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful Airbnb while visiting the Cinque Terre, and it was truly a fantastic experience. The location was unbeatable—right in the heart of Riomaggiore, which quickly became our favorite town of the five. The property itself was spotless, stylish, and up to date, with every modern comfort you could hope for. The view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking—a perfect spot to start or end the day. But what truly made the stay exceptional was Martha. Her hospitality was outstanding, and her attention to detail did not go unnoticed. From clear, timely communication to making sure we had everything we needed (even the smallest things), she went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and memorable.

Fabulous home base for our trip to Cinque Terre!

The Upper House was a fabulous base for our trip to Cinque Terre. Martha was an exceptional host and made everything easier. She met us at the parking space and walked us up to the apartment. She spent at least 30 minutes explaining the apartment, the area, the 5 towns, how to purchase trail and train tickets, etc. She booked our dinner reservations and suggested a booked a terrific sunset boat tour. The apartment itself was immaculate and comfortable. The AC worked great, there was plenty of water pressure, and we had everything we needed for our stay. The views of the town were fantastic. Although there are several flights of steps/ramps up to apartment, they were manageable (and I am still recovering from knee replacement surgery). Be aware - those steps are from the main road to the apartment. There are many additional flights of steps down to town - but there are two city elevators (one right at the foot of the apartment). Sadly, they weren't functional during our visit. Regardless, we would definitely stay at The Upper House during future visits to Cinque Terre.

The deck was a little small for 3 people, but it was still nice to have some space to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Our host Martha met us already at the propertys gate when we arrived and showed us to our room and all facilities. She also gave us a lot of useful tips for our stay in Cinque Terre, with information about all the towns and what to see and do. Clean room with airconditioner, with a nice little patio and a lemon tree right outside the window! Quite area so very comfortable at night. Many stairs up to the property (like its everywhere in Riomaggiore😅) but definitly worth it! We loved our stay here, big thanks to Martha and the Upper House! 😊

Beautiful view from balcony, very modern and comfortable hotel style room. Big bathroom with great shower (with a view!), mini fridge, safe and hanging space for clothes. Martha left us beers/wine/water and snacks too. Martha was the best host, she was so helpful with maps/info and suggestions to make the most of our stay. She booked boat tours and restaurants for us, and all her recommendations were perfect. Thank you Martha for making our stay!

Martha is the best host that you could possibly ask for. She gave us fantastic recommendations to make the most of each day in the Cinque Terre. A lovely way to spend our time in Cinque Terre!

The Upper House was amazing. The rooms are all recently redone with many upscale amenities. The views were incredible off of the balconies. Martha is an meticulous hostess! She met us the first day and provided a 'tutorial' on Cinque Terre - her love for the region shines through. She gave us a wonderful restaurant recommendation (and even made our reservations for us!). I would recommend the Upper House for anyone from couples to a big group (like us!) (there are lot of stairs - you will get your 'steps' in:))

My stay in Cinque Terre could not have been better, and that is all thanks to Martha at the Upper House. It was incredible, beyond what I had imagined! Martha goes the extra mile. Anything you need, she will take care of for you. When I arrived, I had nothing planned for the short two night stay in Cinque Terre. She helped me plan out every single detail, and booked everything for me. She is so knowledgeable about all of Cinque Terre, and she really knows the best spots to go for whatever you are looking to do. Hiking, where to eat, anything. Martha booked all of the restaurants for me, and everything. She even booked a private boat tour for me, even though my train was delayed, she was actually able to hold the boat tour for 30 min, just to wait for me! I think everyone in Riomaggiore knows Martha! Additionally, the apartment is beautiful and the price is MORE than reasonable. I would have payed double for the experience I had and Martha’s outstanding service!! If you plan on staying in Cinque Terre, The Upper House in Riomaggiore is where you want to be. You will not get any better accommodations or service than with Martha. Much better service than at any luxury hotel I’ve ever stayed at! I can’t say enough great things about Martha and the Upper House. Next time I come back to Cinque Terre, I know where I will be staying! There is no better service or experience that you will find. Memorable. We’d like to go back.

Fabulous view of both the harbor and the hills of Riomaggiore. Clean and very modern. It is only a couple of years old. Bottle of chilled white wine in the fridge to enjoy on the balcony is a nice touch. Martha the host went above and beyond in providing helpful information about the local area, including hikes and restaurants etc.

Couple stay in Riomaggiore

The location was amazing! Was fabulous being up high with gorgeous views of water/village. Our host martha was just the best. Couldn’t have been more helpful and treated us with so much kindness and attention. The room was so comfortable. Great size, amazing shower, nice bed, wonderful aircon, washing line was also a great help! We even had maps of each village with tips and tricks provided and amazing restaurant suggestions. The room decor was fresh and modern and so clean! We loved it here

Large apartment, friendly host, and fantastic view

Martha provided us with an incredibly warm welcome to Cinque Terre. From our taxi to our personal boat tour, she organized multiple aspects of our stay. When we arrived, she gave us a brief of all the top attractions, restaurants, and stores. She showed us around the apartment and set us up for an amazing vacation. Could not recommend her enough! The apartment is spacious with two bedrooms, a full living room, large balcony, kitchen, and foyer. Best of all, it has an amazing view looking out over the town to the sea. We plan to stay at her apartment again once we are back in Tuscany!

The price is a bit steep for a younger couple on a budget, but worth it for the view!

The views were amazing and the apartment was super big. The bed is super comfortable. Martha was super nice she booked lots of restaurants for us, she gave us the best recomendations and was there for us at any time. She made our stay perfect. There are two elevators to make it easier to get to the apartment and it was worth for the views. The apartment was very clean. If we go again we'll choose this apartment NO DOUBT!
