Perfect overnight stay in Babino Polje

The location was great for the Peaks of the Balkans trail. Nice social space for chatting to other hikers. Owner very friendly and helpful.

Given the number of guests the ablution facilities were perhaps a little sparse but not a problem at all.

Basic but charming - a memorable place to stay on trail with great host

Perfect location right on POB trail. Gago built the house himself with help from his father, it’s really unique. Dinner was simple but plentiful, and you must try the homemade wine, it’s delicious!

Unique barrel room with stunning mountains views

The room was definitely atypical—it looked like a big wine barrel, which gave it a special and memorable flair. The shower and bathroom facilities are duplicated between the two main buildings, so there’s usually no waiting around for other travelers. The tenant made me feel genuinely welcome, which added to the overall experience. Plus, the view of the mountains at the bottom is simply spectacular.

A perfect stay while hiking the Balkans

Lovely family hosted us in a beautiful peaceful location. Great food served at meals and very willing to help with anything we needed eg laundry.

This guesthouse is situated right on the Peaks of the Balkans trail, so convenient for those doing the trek. It’s a very basic accommodation, but everything you need is available (warm shower, small but clean rooms, a nice dinner).

It was quite cold during our stay and there’s no space to sit inside besides the rooms, meaning our only option was to go to bed pretty early. :) The breakfast was more basic than what we were offered at other guest houses on the trail.

Perfect stay in the forest during on the Peaks of the Balkans trail.

The cottage is located directly on the Peaks of the Balkans trail which makes it great option for hikers. Gago was amazing host, he was very friendly and cooked us very tasty dinner. It was so peaceful there, in the middle of the forest, so we were sleeping extraordinary good.

There is no wifi nor signal, but this was not of the concern for us.

Great place to stop while hiking!

Wonderful place! we stayed over at Gago's wooden house while hiking the Peaks of the Balkan's trail. Gago's place provided a welcome stop over. Gago is super nice, he even brought the walking sticks I forgot to our next accommodation. Highly recommended!

The place was very dirty. We had to make our breakfast ourself because the people don’t live there. Not very cosy and nice. No view from the house and rubbish around.

Hervorragendes Etappenziel auf unserer Wanderung

Erste Übernachtung auf unserer 4-tägigen Wanderung von Plav (Montenegro) nach Valbona (Albanien). Sehr schön und ruhig gelegen, mit Einzelzimmern für unsere 3-köpfige Wandergruppe. Vorort konnten problemlos üppig ausgestattes Abendessen und Frühstück zu einem mehr als fairen Preis dazugebucht werden.

Eine Unterkunft zum Wohlfühlen

Gago ist ein wahnsinnig netter und sehr bemühter Gastgeber. Das Wooden House macht seinem Namen alle Ehre, die Zimmer sind total heimelig, die Lage ruhig und toll. Schöner Außenbereich zum Sitzen und wir konnten uns am Abend drinnen aufwärmen. Wir bekamen frische Handtücher, es gab WLAN und auf Wunsch gibt es Abendessen, Frühstück und Lunchpaket. Leider ging es mir gesundheitlich nicht gut, Gago gab mir Tee und nahm mich am nächsten Morgen mit dem Auto mit nach Plav, wofür ich ihm über alle Maßen dankbar bin!

Super Lage direkt am POB. Gemütliches Holzhaus in ruhiger Lage. Relativ neu daher wird noch ein bisschen um das Haus gearbeitet. Internet ist vorhanden.

De gastvrije ontvangst door de gastvrouw en de rest van de familie. Je voelt je meteen thuis en een onderdeel van de familie. Het eten is ook heel lekker en meer dan voldoende. Je gaat zeker niet met honger van tafel.

Fijne rustige overnachting met liefdevol ontvangst

De gastvrouw heeft ons super gastvrij ontvangen, heeft heerlijk zelfgemaakt eten gekookt (de frambozenjam bij het ontbijt was onze favoriet) en het was een heerlijke plek om uit te rusten na een lange dag wandelen. Heel stil en super schoon.Precies op de route van de Peaks of the Balkan trail.
