APANEMA HOUSE

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist herausragend. sie ist für zwei Erwachsene mit Kinder perfekt. Das "Schlafzimmer" in der Galerie ist niedrig und das muss man mögen. Ist aber für ein paar Tage absolut machbar. (ich hab oben geschlafen, bin 1,70m groß) Vom Fährhafen sind es ein paar Minuten und somit auch nur ein paar Schritte in die Flaniermeile von Aegina-Stadt.

Es ist etwas laut wegen der Nähe zur Flaniermeile und zum Halli Galli. Damit sollte man umgehen können, das in der Nacht auch Motorräder vor der Haustür fahren werden.

Excellent location and very nice house to stag for a mini holiday

HOST: responsive, seemed nice, wanted to help. LOCATION: Fabulous location. In the heart of the port and its super cute back streets, and a stone throw from a little beach area and the lively restaurants and bars that run along the main street opposite the waterfront. GROUND BEDROOM: Cosy, has its own aircon and has view onto the little courtyard. In short: despite it's fabulous location, I wouldn't come back and couldn't recommend to anyone needing to use the upstairs attic as a room (but if you're a couple staying in the ground floor room only, it would have been a better experience).

SMELL: smells like cats usually live there which was a little off-putting (recommend the host puts air fresheners / deodorisers in place before guest arrival). SIZE: VERY small - we had to move lounge furniture to open our suitcases and there is no space / wardrobes to unpack them unless you're staying in the ground floor bedroom which has a wardrobe. AIRCON: admittedly it was a heat wave when we were there, but I literally could not sleep up in the roof bed area because there is no aircon and it was sweltering. I moved to the sofa in the lounge which is not long enough to lie down on so it was a horrendous night. I messaged the host to ask for an extra fan and he was quick to respond - he didn't have a fan but offered tips to cool it (direct the aircon fins towards the attic; put the ground bedroom on full blast with the door open). The following day was slightly cooler outside, and combined with his tips it was a more bearable (but still not pleasant) second and third night. ATTIC "BEDROOM": The stairs to the attic and the need to crouch/crawl to the bed, make it completely unsuitable for anyone with back/joint pain, and generally uncomfortable for anyone other than a toddler (though I wouldn't put a toddler up there on their own due to the stairs). The roof beams are VERY low, particularly on the lefthand side (less than half a meter above your head when laying down) so it was unsurprising that I banged my head a number of times. KITCHEN: very basic. Not really designed to do any cooking here but then again, why would you with all the wonderful food on your doorstep! BATHROOM: Shower kept falling off its perch (seems that is common as on arrival it was left hanging over the taps instead). I'd recommend spending a couple of euros on getting a proper attachment. Summary: I had read reviews stating some of these issues before, but thought it was just people complaining and that it would be fine for 3 nights.
