The Jewel in the Crown, countryside escape

Barbara was very welcoming. The location was brilliant for a wedding we were attending at Heaton Farm. The owner even offered to take us and collect us from Heaton Farm. The cottage was wonderfully quirky with lovely furniture and oldie worldly items. The beds were very comfortable. We weren't able to stay long enough to take advantage of the welcome pack of free range eggs, bread, cereal, biscuits and pastries. Thank you Barbara.

It was a little difficult to spot but with the help of the postman we realised we'd passed it twice. No problem though.

Quiet, out of the way. Was clean tidy and the host was very helpful.

The shower was a bit too hot and difficult to adjust.

We loved being in the countryside on a farm, the location was stunning. I can see why it's called the Jewel in the Crown. The fresh farm eggs, bread, and butter were a lovely touch. Barbara was lovely and accommodating with arrival times and available for any queries.

There weren't any negatives. Only thing that is worth noting is that booking.com didn't make it totally clear the accomodation is attached to the main house. This didn't matter to us. but maybe useful to know.

Barbara the owner is wonderful host. Complementary milk butter fresh chicken eggs and bread but we did bring all of our own so not needed. Accommodation is very unique, converted rooms from main house. The beds are very comfortable. Chickens, goose and friendly dogs. Lovely and clean.

Wi-fi disappointing no Netflix as advertised.We have a teen autistic daughter and wi-fi for TV streaming is very important to her. The fire stick/wi-fi could not connect onto anything where the TV is in the fitting room and bedroom areas. Wi-fi only connected in kitchen area. Suggest a booster in TV area. Light in the morning from 4am coming through the roof of the double bed area woke us up. Daughter complained of light from cars going past property during the night, coming through high round window in bedroom waking her too.
