A lovely away from it all break. Set in the owners garden, with a small padock to exercise dogs. The lounge + kitchen area is large, the furnishings are comfortable. Double bed was very welcoming after our long walks as there are many pleasant walks a short drive away. The bathroom is fitted out to a high standard. Met the owner, we could have talked for hours, nothing was too much trouble.

We really enjoyed our stay. The lodge was absolutely spotless which was a great asset as we have stayed in things similar before and they have been dusty and unclean. We spoke to the man and the woman and both were lovely. The Little bottle of milk, shampoo, body wash, washing up liquid etc were a wonderful touch. Like other reviews a coffee table would be nice. Only thing I would let others know is the parking is very tight. We nearly came in our VW van and I'm glad we didn't as we wouldn't have fit in the parking space. We went in my Fiat Punto and there was only just enough room. So if you have a big car just be mindful of this. We also thought a sign saying Ivy Lodge would have been good as we drove up and down the lane a few times and ended up knocking on the house asking for directions, as we were unsure which house it was, but it turned out to be the right house. But overall it was a lovely chilled break. Rudyard lake in walking distant. Leek, Buxton the Roaches etc within half an hour. I'm sure we will be back in the summer.

Time spent in this beautiful place was just that. Beautiful! I didn’t need to go anywhere! Nature was on the doorstep. The surrounding area was fields and the lake was within walking distance. The accommodation was everything I needed for a ’personal’ retreat. It was clean, comfortable and relaxing. Bird watching from the door. A true gem of a find.Thank you to the owners for opening this space up for people to experience a little piece of heaven on earth.
