Whitby offers attractions such as fishing, sailing, golf, abbey, museums, shops, pubs and restaurants. The town’s skyline is dominated by the ruins of St. Hilda’s Abbey. Spreading below, a maze of alleyways and narrow streets run down to the busy quayside. From the old town, 199 steps lead up to the parish church of St. Mary, one of the finest Anglo Saxon churches in the country, and whose churchyard gave Bram Stoker the inspiration to write Dracula. A superb base to explore Yorkshire’s east coast holiday resorts and the pretty, quaint villages in the North Yorkshire Moors better known as ’Heartbeat’ country. Shop 500 yards, pub 400 yards and restaurant 0.25 miles.

Our 4th visit to River Side, wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Whitby now. Has everything you need, is clean and has your own parking space which is hard to find in Whitby! Looking forward to our next visit.
