Cosy and convenient

Location was fantastic - near town and beaches. Comminications with host was exceptional.

Lovely stay, perfect retreat for what we needed. Close to the beach and the town. House was lovely and warm when we arrived

Superb location on a peninsula with a pier and two beaches nearby (walking distance), and a 15 min ride to the ferry to Tory Island, where we spotted hundreds of puffins (in late July) as well as gannets, guillemots, razorbills, kittywakes, fulmars and (heard the) corncrake. The house has a well stocked kitchen, excellent for self catering (lots of non preishables like oats, flour, oil, vinegar, spices, sugar, tea, coffee and cleaning products). Friendly horses in the field in the back.

The ground floor rooms are stuffed with furniture and rugs - not ideal for those with allergies. We found the ground floor not properly cleaned or aired (after two weeks of unusually dry and hot weather) so had to do a deep cleaning of bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom upon arrival. The top floor rooms and bathroom were fine, in contrast. The landlady apologized profusely and indicated that the newly contracted cleaner had not delivered up to her standards. So this possibly is a one time issue, but it did affect our arrival on a very hot day negatively. Additionally, the house is advertised as 'with a garden' but there is little garden furniture (or we didnt find it) and there is no sea view from the house as the hedge is too high to look over it from the garden / ground floor and the windows on the upper floor are not facing the sea...
