Highly enjoyable

I am a very picky traveler - I love it clean and love love a good aesthetic. With Casa Samambaia I made a great choice. I stayed in the studio with the outdoors kitchen. The love for traditional craft, art and design that has been put into is remarkable. The housekeeper was always only a Whatsapp message away and I received some good recommendations from the owner.

Santa Teresa is on a mountain and it is a bit of a hike to go up and down by Uber all the time to visit other tourists sites.

Perfect location in Santa Teresa

The location is wonderful, vibrant yet peaceful, and the staff on site are responsive and helpful. I also appreciated the referrals to local services, like a great driver.

We had some issues for two nights with a leaking roof and some malfunctioning electrical in one room. The owners and staff handled it well.

My room was light filled and beautifully decorated. I had access to a spacious and gorgeous living area, kitchen , balcony and plunge pool

Beautiful house with an amazing view

Amazing view from the balcony and the bedroom. Very nicely decorated space in a cute neighbourhood.

The location is a bit out of the way for someone who is visiting Rio for the first time. Also, was not expecting an outdoor shower but it was very warm out so it didn’t matter.

Looked nice in the photos

The photos were not recent. It smelled of sewage in the bathroom but it’s an old property and we did book the cheaper rooms. The noise from other residents was very loud and can disturb you, I could hear game noises from phones and then kids running about upstairs at 5am. The owners were very quick to try and help but you can’t stop kids being kids. This is not a criticism just how it is. If you are young and out all night you might not notice, if you’re in bed early, definitely book a more expensive room. The lovely surrounding area nothing to do with the studio rooms. Ubers are cheap and you’ll need an uber everywhere

Beautiful house with kind hosts

Beautiful & spacious home! Just as it is in the photographs. Our room was comfortable with great views. The hosts were lovely & very accommodating, with both Brigitte & Angelica being available throughout our stay and to assist with a very late check in, as well as putting us in touch with a driver to pick us up from the airport at night. Also appreciated the bottled drinking water provided. The area is beautiful & interesting.

The house is in need of some maintenance and could use a deep cleaning. Would have appreciated some soap in the bathroom.

La maison la chambre et les espaces communs sont magnifiques. Notre chambre avait une vue incroyable, magnifiquement aménagée, pour un prix très raisonnable. Le quartier est très chouette, un petit village dans la ville. Brigitte et Angelica sont toujours disponibles.

Die Unterkunft ist bezaubernd und bietet einen fantastischen Ausblick! Sehr gefallen hat uns die outdoor Dusche des Zimmers. Insgesamt ist ein ganz wunderbares Konzept mit dem gemeinsamen Küchen-/ Wohnzimmerbereich. Die Mitarbeiterin Angelica war stets bemüht alle Fragen prompt zu beantwortet und wir haben auch einige der Restaurantempfehlungen fürs Frühstück ausprobiert und waren sehr begeistert!

Mooi op het eerste gezicht maar door ontbrekende hygiëne minder dan verwacht.

Mooie inrichting en mooi huis. Bed comfortabel en alle faciliteiten aanwezig. Vooraf vriendelijk contact met dame van de locatie die haar best heeft gedaan ons vroeg in te checken.

De accommodatie was niet goed schoon, op het eerste oog wel maar in veel hoeken nog stof en spinnenwebben. Tijdens ons verblijf van 3 nachten werd het verblijf geen één keer schoongemaakt of een prullenbak geleegd. We hebben zelf om schone handdoeken moeten vragen, welke ze toen wel zijn komen brengen. Naast de incheck en dit moment hebben we het hele verblijf niemand van het personeel gezien.

Super accueil d'Angelica sur place, connectée avec nous plusieurs jours avant notre arrivée, toujours dispo, toujours sympa pour nous aider (lessive, repassage, commande de repas, eau...) ou communiquer avec nous (Taxis, clés...) Et puis la maison de Laurent, très spacieuse, de bon goût, très agréable à vivre... la terrasse et évidemment la piscine, les deux salles de bain, la cuisine, les extérieurs. Merci beaucoup pour cette expérience lumineuse qui nous a fait vivre le Rio de Santa Teresa de la meilleure des façons, qui plus est à deux pas du resto Aprazivel :-)))

Tout était parfait. Nous savons où revenir habiter la prochaine fois.

Minha experiência na Casa Samambaia foi maravilhosa! A localização é excelente — tudo que eu queria visitar ficava bem perto, o que facilitou muito meus deslocamentos. A Angélica foi incrível durante toda a estadia: super atenciosa, sempre perguntando se eu precisava de algo e até oferecendo serviço de quarto, trocando minhas toalhas e garantindo meu conforto. A casa é linda, calma, limpa e muito bem organizada. Foi uma estadia muito acolhedora e tranquila. O único ponto de atenção é que a região de Santa Teresa tem muitas ladeiras, então é bom estar preparado para isso. No geral, amei e recomendo muito!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à la Casa Samambaia. Le studio est très confortable, bien équipé et idéalement situé pour découvrir Santa Teresa à pied. Angelica var en god vært, som sørgede for, at jeg havde alt, hvad jeg havde brug for. Udsigten var rigtig god fra mit værelse. Fællesrummene var også fine.

På mit værelse var døren og vinduet ud til meget utæt. Så det blæste ind. Og der var også en del larm fra gaden, der ikke blev isoleret, fordi det var så luftigt. Poolen er meget lille, bare så man ved det.

Unterkunft ist wirklich schön und besonders eingerichtet! Man hat einen Traum Blick auf die Christus Statue! Und auch auf die Stadt und die naheliegenden Favelas!

Eigentlich war an der Unterkunft nichts auszusetzen! Uber bestellen war nie ein Problem! Man sollte nur Acht geben, beim Spazieren oder wenn man mit einem eigenen Auto unterwegs ist und nicht unabsichtlich in die naheliegenden Favelas reinfahren/spazieren!

Ubicado en el barrio bohemio Santa Teresa, turístico y seguro. Anfitriones muy amables, pendientes si necesitas cualquier cosa en todo momento. Alojamiento súper bonito, totalmente equipado y con unas vistas maravillosas al Corcovado y al Cristo Redentor.
