A beautiful place: river view, wonderful hosts, comfortable accommodations, and delicious food

The place is very atmospheric and beautiful. We were greeted very warmly and welcomingly, despite the late hour. We truly felt at home, like visiting family. The breakfast was delicious. The jam and honey were especially delicious. I stayed with my family, and everyone really enjoyed it. It's a shame we only stayed for one day. Good luck to the host, you're great, and I recommend this place to everyone.

An authentic Albanian welcome, wonderful food, great location and value for money.best stay in Albania

I loved everything Kastriot and Marilenna looked after me so well. I stayed three nights and felt so at home. The food is delicious and very generous. All locally produced and home cooked. Kastriot took me to the trail head for Langarica Canyon and gave me lots of advice for places to visit. They looked after some things for me while I went hiking and welcomed me back with food and company. I am now homesick for Honey House. My favourite stay in Albania. Faleminderit friends

Welcoming hosts, great home cooking!

We had a fantastic experience here. The host was so kind and welcoming. He took us on a beautiful hike up into the mountains. We had a dinner and breakfast prepared by our hostess, everything was really delicious and fresh with local organic foods. Kastriot also helped us with our bus connections. Our room was clean and comfortable. Nice river views from the outdoor dining spaces. We also really liked the town of Permet, great pedestrian walkways and parks!

very friendly and informative hosts, very clean, excellent location. Good breakfast. The weather was a little cold and there are no indoor eating facilities. Instead a covered and sheltered outdoor area with a fabulous view of the river.

Amazing riverside gem in Permet

Kastrioti is a wonderful host, very welcoming. The additional breakfast and dinner prepared by them is a must - eat overlooking the river with local produce. They also arranged for us to go rafting with their son who works at a local company.

Number one was the hosts, so nice , amazing and helpful… everything is clean , great spot , breakfast on the river , great value for money and lots of local knowledge, we loved our stay… and thanks especially for your help with our daughter when she was unwell

Honey-House “Kastrioti” over looks the crystal clear waters of Vjosa River. The apartment was quiet, very clean with a comfortable bed. The hosts were friendly, welcoming, informative and helpful. Breakfast outside was a good start to the day . We recommend staying at Honey-House “Kastrioti”.

Perfect riverside getaway, easy base for area visits

Beautiful views from the shared (and private) tables. Wifi worked well in room and outdoors, allowing me to work under the shade watching the river. Large breakfast with homemade jams and types of honey. Depending on the season, the hosts offer you to visit the family honey farms. 20 min drive to the thermal baths (a must) and also 45 min hike to old Orthodox church in the hill. Perfect mix of nature and city, easy to park on site or nearby. Amazing restaurant 100m away.

We could and should have stayed longer as we really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent home cooking of breakfast and dinner served on veranda under walnut tree. Well appointed room with space. Very welcoming hosts. As it was a homestay it gave us an insight into distinctive local living. The air conditioning worked well in extremely hot weather.

Room décor slightly dated but functioned well and was homely. Place was difficult to find as down side alleyway so a bigger sign would be helpful.

One of the true gems of Albania

Our stay was fantastic and Kastrioti and Marinela are really among the best hosts you can ever find on booking.com. They are such lovely, warm and caring people, and they put so much care into the house and garden - from the wooden table constructed by Kastrioti to the delicious home-made meals by Marinela, everything is beautifully home-made which is a rare gem in this era of mass tourism. Having breakfast and dinner under the nut tree overlooking the Vjosa river, conversing with the hosts and watching their cats playing were definitely some of the highlights. Not to mention the adventurous hike we had with Kastrioti to the mountain and waterfall in a village nearby, during which we enjoyed great views and learned about different wild herb plants. Kastrioti speaks Italian very well and so for us the communication was very smooth, otherwise one could also rely on his sons for support with English and he is trying to learn German too, which is impressive. Kastrioti and Marinela are the amazing hosts that make our first trip to Albania special and we will miss them! Grazie di cuore!

Amazing Guest House, Excellent Local Food!!

It’s hard to say what the best part about our stay was! Our home cooked meals by Kastriot’s wife, where she used all local ingredients. Sitting and eating over looking the Vjosa River. Our super clean, quiet accommodation just a few blocks from the center of Permet. I can say enough how much my brother and I enjoyed our stay and the best guest house in Permet. Kastriot and Marinella made us feel like family and, If you’re like us and wanted to experience something close to an Albanian home stay, the Honey House is for you.

Memorable stay with great price…

Everything was perfect. We were welcomed with drinks and traditional food. Kastrioti family is great and very helpful to make our trip enjoyable. Stay is next to river. Kiko ( cat) was amazing, we had a great fun with him. I had a great evening walk to Permet with owner’s son. They took us for hiking to Sopoti waterfalls, it was great.

Best possible personal care and assistance. We felt most welcome. Good local breakfast outside on top of river bank to the sound of water streams.

Beds could have been slightly more comfortable. Otherwise everything on our three day trip was fantastic. We were even offered to wash our clothes at the hotel.

Beautiful and great stay, but read the negative feedback too.

The host was fabulous, very friendly but he didn't speak English. The room's were clean. The view was great. Pet friendly and parking spot was outside. Wifi was very good. Dinner and breakfast was so good.

The host didn't tell the dinner was extra cost. And just asked some questions, like what we want to drink but we thought he asked about the breakfast, the breakfast was included, that i knew. For four people the dinner cost 59€ what is pretty expensive for dinner that we didn't needed. But the dinner was very tasty, sadly we ate before, so we had 2 dinners. Otherwise everything was great.

The house is next to the river in a quiet place near the city center. Available parking on the site. We had a great time there and can only recommend it!

The most welcoming stay of our trip in Albania! Kastriot and Marinella greeted us with homemade raki and walnut liquor and the dinner was great. Everything fresh from their own garden. The location is beautiful, next to the river and very quiet.

Small paradise in Përmet

The rooms are very clean and cosy. It's very silent, you will only hear the sound of the Vjosa river and some birds. We slept very good and the view from the balkony into the mountains was amazing. The guest house was very well equiped: there was a fridge, a washing machine, even an ironing board. Our room had an air condition that we didn't use and when we were freezing a little bit we got an aditional blanket. Kastriot and Mariella are the nicest hosts we have ever met. If there was a price for the best hosts, they would win it. We had traditional Albanian breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food was always amazing! They paid attention to a healthy nutrition, so that the meals were prepared mostly of local products or of ingredients from the own garden. And of course there was self made honey! Special requests, like vegetarian meals or wine were absolutely no problem. There is so much that you can do in this region and Kastriot is supporting you with all your plans. You want to go water rafting? He will contact the provider for you. You want to see the thermal springs? He will arrange you a taxi, bikes or maybe drive you. You want to go hiking? He will write down the track for you or join you. If you get lost in a hike, he will rescue you (yep... unwillingly tested for you). Also he knows everything about the plants, herbs and fruits in this region, which he loves to share with you. We will keep this guest house and its owners in our memory as a heartful place in a beautiful piece of paradise.
