St James Quarter 2 Bed Apartment

The host David has his heart in this. He clearly wants guests to feel welcome and to be able to relax. Exceptional! Location is great: For tourists, everything is nearby.

It’s an old house. If you don’t like squeaky floors, the property isn’t for you. But we’d still recommend it, because of the hospitality will make up for it :-)

It was a lovely clean apartment. David was a wonderful warm host, met us when we reached to make sure we had no trouble checking in and gave us good tips on local sights, food etc. There was an excellent selection of coffees, tea and also some goodies for us in the flat which was a really sweet gesture. He had also kept washing machine detergent and dishwasher pods in the flat so we could comfortably use everything. Beds were comfortable. Location was very good with the bus and tram and lots of cafes, restaurants within 1 min and old Edinburgh within a 10 min walk. Flat is on the 2nd floor with curving stairs but there's a very handy rail all throughout and we had no trouble going up and down.

The toilet space was very tight. It's hard for an adult to use

This is a stunning and beautiful apartment with lovely furniture and very clean and comfortable. The owner, David, met us to handover the keys and he was so lovely and had provided us with all the essentials in the kitchen - bread, milk, butter, jam, biscuits and chocolates. It is in a great location. We went on a Ghost Walk and had a look round the National Portrait Gallery which is in a gorgeous building opposite. We also visited the Royal Yacht Britannia and Holyrood Palace and we had a lovely meal in Bella Sicily, the Italian restaurant downstairs in the same building as the apartment.

My mum is elderly so she had to really take her time going up and down the stone stairs, but it's an old building so we knew there would be stairs and they kind of added to the charm of the place. The bathroom is quite small but again, as it's an old building, that really wasn't a problem.

Great location by trams and bus station but also easy to walk to train station , bars, restaurants and old town Apartment had lots of nice touches , bread , milk , butter , jam and fruit great when arrived late Shower gel , shampoo etc too Beautiful flowers and plants too - so homely
