The Gate-Stunning Garden Apartment in Freshwater Bay

We really liked the location, it was scenic, convenient & we enjoyed the local village store & cafes. The property is very spacious, the kitchen is spectacular & very enjoyable to spend time in. The beds are very comfortable

Check in could have been much easier with more information & photos. It took at least 20 mins & several phone calls to locate the back entrance to the property through the car park. Once you know it`s fine! It was not pleasant to find ants on the kitchen surfaces, & crawling over the beds in the twin room. It was disruptive when workmen arrived on 2 consecutive afternoons, particularly when dismantling scaffolding, & throwing it down outside the window. We were not informed the hot tub would not be available, I had been planning to use it, & would like to have had the option.

The location was absolutely fantastic. Sitting in the hot tub listening to the waves crash into the bay was priceless. It felt off the beaten track. We loved how close it was to the beach and to the little shops too. The facilities meant we could cook for ourselves in the big kitchen. The washer/dryer was really handy. We loved it. Would highly recommend.

They could have put a couple of lamps in for soft lighting and also we struggled to find fire wood in the local shops so it would have been good if they left us a couple of logs and kindling. The only slight warning is on the gate - out dogs were fine but smaller dogs might be able to get through if they tend to wander.

Well equipped inside. Great location.

Outside was tired and messy with old/broken equipment lying around. Grass was cut during the stay - messy on arrival. Upstairs occupants were noisy which affected our sleep.

Nice and modern with everything we needed. Lovely family kitchen and well thought out. Lounge was comfy with plenty of side tables. Bedroom compacted and nicely decorated and beds comfortable. Great having our own parking spot.

No covering over door or window which was in the main seating room. The shower base was slippy. Bedroom 2 had 2 single beds pushed together instead of a double as stated. Windows dirty outside. Grass long and outside furniture covered in cobwebs and dirty. Old bq dumped by the side of the outside child’s play house which had a note on it to say not to use. Hot tub a disappointment as it’s very much on show with a public footpath running round the garden with a low fence. Also the lid blow off a couple of times while we were out and flies etc in it! The clips to secure it are broken/missing. This is a great property and I would definitely go back! It is just such a shame it was let down by maintenance outside as the inside was great.
