Around the corner from a center

Very nice place with q great location, you don't get much noise from a city but it's a walkable distance from everything. Nice and clean location that's it pretty calm,unless your room is next to restaurant then you hear a bit of noise of just people around,other than that good.

I do recommend this place!

It was private and tucked away. The pool was nice as well. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. They offered a spacious fridge and breakfast wasn’t included. Room was nice and cool and the curtains gave me great privacy.

You can hear people upstairs and especially if they have kids who woke me up at 6am.

Decent stay, good for a few days!

The pool and room balcony/patio were nice, even if the rain it’s nice to be covered and sit outside. The room was generally very clean and AC working well! Staff was so exceptionally nice and kind! I liked that they offered to bring breakfast to your room, I liked the spacious room and bathroom didn’t feel cramped.

The shower and sink had lots of trouble draining, I wore flip flops to shower and the water filled well above my sandals, maybe just my specific room 103, the linens and towels need a major upgrade, towels are stained and yellow brownish, the bed sheets are very hot and worn out, the pillows are dollar store quality- you can stack 3 on the ground, sit on them, and still feel the floor under your butt. And the large crack between the doors needs to be helped, lots of geckos and mosquitos in my room while I slept. The breakfast included was okay, I’m glad it was free with my accommodation cause I wouldn’t be happy paying - half a piece of bacon on the BLT, sourdough soooo incredibly hard to bite. I’d prefer to order off the restaurants regular menu.

A convenient and comfortable place to stay

The location is great for walking into town and exploring all the fun of Ubud.

The pool was disappointing. Very dark with hardly a splash of sun. Also it has the feel of an American hotel . Other than the amazing local staff, the hotel didn’t have a Bali feel to it.

Overall, a pleasant stay with friendly staff and good access to Ubud, despite a few minor issues.

Although the location is not exactly central, it’s still easy and quick to get to the heart of Ubud. The staff were very kind, helpful, and friendly throughout our stay. Breakfast was good – it wasn’t a buffet, but à la carte. The portions were on the smaller side and quite simple (think sandwiches and similar), but tasty and satisfying enough to start the day well. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend it for a quiet and comfortable stay in Ubud.

One issue we had was with the bathroom sink – on the first day it was leaking quite a lot. The staff fixed the leak quickly, but the drain remained clogged and water was draining very slowly throughout our stay. Also, there was a noticeable musty smell in the room, likely due to humidity. I understand this is a common issue in Bali, but just be aware that you might notice it as well.

Cute room. Adorable staff. Breakfast at the restaurant which is very packed in the morning

The room was cleaned every day. It was comfy and good airconditioning. The staff was ADORABLE.

Its on top of a restaurant en to get to the rooms you need to pass through the restaurant and it is always packed. Also you take your breakfast at the restaurant a la carte, i was not a fan to be honest. Also the hotel is on a busy street with a lot of traffic it gets very loud when sitting at the breakfast area.

The staff were so lovely and hospitable. My flight was severely delayed which meant I couldn’t check in the normal time.

Amazing place, people, service and location

Excellent service, delicious breakfast, main street only 15 min walk or 5 min scooter ride. We also appreciate that after check-out we were allowed to leave our bags so that we could see the waterfalls without our belongings before leaving. We really liked everything, thank you very much :)

Definitely worth a visit

The room was very modern clean and comfortable. Also the staff couldn't have been nicer. I also liked the mini bar this is not seen too often in Bali.

The only thing that I could complain about is the breakfast area . It is very busy and we were encouraged to eat in our room . As it was only two mornings it wasn't too much trouble but if you were staying longer it could be a problem. The breakfast was excellent and served nice and hot. It's is about a 15 minute into the tourist areas.

Good location and breakfast

Great location - quiet, like 15min from the main Ubud street, lovely pool. Breakfast was very delicious - you order it a-la carte the day before, we loved it. Extremely helpful and nice staff. In the room it was quite chilly because of the tiles, which is good for this climate.

Nothing special. The repairs in the room are not the newest as for the money paid, but in overall everything was fine.

The location is great. Breakfast menu is amazing, so many good options. You can walk or take a bike to the city center. Probably 15 minutes by walk. The staff are nice.

It was loud at night and in the morning. I had a room next to the road and I heard all the cars and bikes. Also, I heard neighbors from the room next to me. And the pool is very small. Only two sunbeds

I think we will come again

The staff was so attentive 🙏 And we liked our room, it was clean and cozy. But the best thing was breakfast. Very good coffee (which is hard to find in hotel breakfasts), avocado toast and a lot of other options. And of course the area, it is the best part of Ubud — calm, quite and beautiful.

Fair, but expected better for the price

First, the staff were great! They were very friendly and responded quickly to any questions or requests we had. The hotel is located about a 15-minute walk away from the main grid of Ubud, but we didn't mind that as it is in a quieter location. The hotel is small compared to other comparable hotels in Ubud but the design is contemporary and tasteful, with nice wooden panels and carved reliefs and plants around the place. The pool was small but cosy.

For the price we paid, the hotel didn't meet our expectations at this time—though assuming improvements are made, we may choose to book this place again if we ever return to Ubud. It might be that the hotel is still finding its feet—during our stay the staff seemed to trying out ways to arrange the lobby (which is also the dining area), for example. However, the hotel could have been cleaner. Also, the bathroom had some issues when we arrived—there seemed to be a funny smell and there was no hot water for a night, and we also found a puddle of water collecting at the base of the toilet bowl. We were told by the staff that the hotel management would not discount our stay for the lack of hot water, but they did offer us a small discount on our laundry and extra charges at breakfast.

Great location, the room was lovely, so clean and we had a massive bed. The staff were so kind and always eager to help with any worry and full of suggestions for our stay in Ubud. The food was great also. Overall, it was such a great stay and great value for money as our room included breakfast too. Thanks again.

Lovely staff, basic accommodation that is a bit overpriced.

This villa is in a quiet location opposite a rice paddy. It's right beside the Best Western in Ubud and there are two good cheap restaurants close by. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our safe wasn't working and they sorted out a work around straight away. Breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious. Our pool was cool and clean.

We were an older group and need to recharge at home base after an outing. We had a 2 BR villa and were hoping there would be more living space to allow us to do this together. There was a small outdoor living space with a table and a small lounge. For us it didn't really work that well but it would be great for younger people with no health issues. The rooms were fine but the bathrooms were a bit cramped and our loo leaked a bit - we had been spoilt by other villas we've stayed in though. There was really no restaurant to speak of, just a few tables near reception. Although the restaurant was advertised as able to provide three meals a day, when we arrived we found it didn't do dinner. We like to use room service so that was a problem for us but probably wouldn't be for other people because there are two excellent restaurants nearby - Memento is right next door and Soul Kitchen is just across the street. We think it's a good place to stay, just not for us and you can find better value for money in Bali. We thought the advertising was a little misleading because it looked better in the photos than in real life.

Lovely stay in a private villa

We had a lovely stay at Tamantara! The villa was very comfortable and clean and the open space kitchen was perfect for having our breakfast in front of the pool! Staff were very welcoming and helpful, we had breakfast included and they offered to pack it in boxes for us to take away on our tour because we left very early in the morning. We were also able to leave our suitcases at the lobby before check in and after check out which was great!
