    Room is big, close to tram station, the night time receptionist (old man) is nice and friendly.

    The good points are location close to Mt. Hakodate, Motomachi and easy to get to Yachigashira hot springs by street car. I didnt appreciate being made to self check in and fill a lot of details on a screen that defaulted to Japanese and had to retype everything all over, after a long journey all the way from Kyoto, when there was reception staff available, I was the only checkin happening, no one else around, and they already had my details from the booking. Absolutely zero food options in the hotel, which is an issue, because dining options in the area are very limited and close early resulting in us eating at Lawsons. In Hakodate after 2 visits staying in the neighbourhood, i have come to the realization that it is far better to stay near the station, as it is very much a one horse town. However, you will only find spacious rooms in the neighbourhood, so if the ability to swing a cat in the room and be close enough to the ropeway to walk back after night time viewing are your primary requirements, then this is the best choice.

    I was only in Hakodate for 2 nights but my stay here was very nice. I would say the location is good depending on where you want to be but Hakodate is pretty compact so you can get around easily. Room was very nice and large and facilities were very good. I would definitely stay here again 👍

    This accommodation was okay. I had minimal contact with staff, but when I did they were polite and professional. The room size was fine. The bed comfort was fine and the daily water bottles were great. However the toilet had a embedded urine smell, the heater was so dusty you couldn't turn it on without coughing out your lungs, so in the middle of winter in northern Japan we slept heater-less. The window is jarred so you cannot get any ventilation and the walls are paper thin, you can hear all the coughs, snores and conversations happening next door. This place was inexpensive. It was less than a third of the price of the hotels we stay in, hence I am not completely shocked at the quality. I thought I would give it a try as it had high reviews ratings however I dont believe the rating truly reflect the standard.
