It was really nice to have a washer & dryer with detergent in the room! Also a small fridge and 1-burner stove too.

You're basically getting a fully furnished apartment with a full size fridge, AC, washer and dryer. The bathroom is basically a walk in shower with curtains separating the toilet – nothing fancy but fully functional. No room or linen service, so it's up to you to keep it clean. Just like at home. It's cozy and roomy (by Japanese standards) and convenient and it's up to you to make it what you want.
