Tenpoint Hotel OKOU

Easy access as we arrive okinawa late and needed to pick up our rental car next day. Needed to receive the room password from email but the staff had some difficulties to type my email address correctly. Washer and dryer inside the room which was very convenient for us

My complaint: reception staff was very rude (almost a shock for Japan). The situation was that I had received the email confirmation for the booking. The room number and PIN was already provided. No instructions given that I needed to physically check-in at the reception. I did peer into the reception when I walked in but did not see anyone there. So I proceeded to go up to my room. Staff likely hurried up after me, pressed on my doorbell and informed me that the check-in process should be downstairs. It was an honest mistake and could have been laughed off, but he frowned throughout and hand gestures indicated major negative vibes, as if I had just committed the utmost crime (such as to the level of peeing at the door). It was not a nice way to have been greeted. Immediately put me in a foul mood for a bit and certainly not how I like to be treated when on holiday. Pros: - tucked away in a quiet street but close to main road - near a big book and stationery store - convenience stores about 5 min away - there is also a supermarket about 10min away with a good selection of fresh food and I like to buy local snacks from supermarkets - very near the hotel, there is an excellent french bistro (Bistro Le Comptoire Sugi) which we stumbled upon one rainy night. A very good meal. - a legit vintage store called cyclone 2 doors down from Sugi. - a cute cafe called Kuma Cafe with warm service Cons: - not very near main shopping street, about 10 min walk away - some cafes and restaurants in the area but not that many - no breakfast (but this was already noted when booking)

Fair services and location. Have everything essential and that’s all. Close to the monorail station, but need a walk from the shopping areas.

Pros : - Friendly staff (when present, limited hours) - Clean room Cons : - AC was nearly non-existent. For Japan in the summer, quality AC is a necessity. My handheld fan blew colder and stronger air. - Listing has “Luggage Storage” in top 5 amenities. Through communication via Agoda we discovered it was extremely limited (details not visible in the hotel listing on iOS) to only when hotel staff are on the property (15:00-22:00). Outside of that, you can leave it by the elevator at your own risk. If you need luggage storage, I would look elsewhere. (Thankfully, Japan is the land of luggage storage options, however, the service should not be listed with such significant limitations)
