    Overall: recommended, would stay here again. Very clean. Our group of 6 stayed in the family suite on the 5th floor. The elevator takes you directly to your suite. This was very convenient (no stairs) for the two seniors in our group. I think it was a suitable size for a group of 6. Not cramped, not spacious, but just right. Note that it only has a small bar fridge, microwave, kettle, and small TV. However, the table and seating area are large enough for everyone to sit down and eat. The shower room with a bath stood out to me as being quite large and luxurious (excellent water pressure). Location: I enjoyed the neighbourhood feel. There is a convenience store directly across the street, several dining options nearby, and two high profile historical attractions (Nijo Castle and the Imperial Palace / National Gardens) within walking distance or a short bus ride. I walked from the hotel around both sites in one rainy afternoon with a 9 year old, without taking transit. For transit to other areas of the city, you will need to walk about 7 minutes, 550 m, to the local subway station, or take a short bus trip. The staff were helpful and courteous and earned 5/5 stars when they are there, however, the front desk is not staffed at all hours. This is understandable since it's a small building. For example, when we arrived in early afternoon to try to store our luggage, there wasn't anyone there, and we didn't receive entry codes until very close to the check-in time. Note that the bar downstairs is now closed since March 12.
