Casas da Baixa - Jules & Madeleine

When reading reviews for this property be advised there are different units in this building. Our unit was located in the front of the property directly above the front door. This is a older historic building which is great, right in the heart of the tourist centre, lots of places to eat around and close to public transportation. There was air conditioning in the unit, plenty of hot water, and key pads on the doors instead of carrying around keys. However it is noisy being next to a very busy street, and the walls are quite thin so you can hear your neighbours and the echo from people in the hall. There is an elevator which is great. Our unit was spacious enough for 2 people, however we did advise the hosts the TV was not working on the first evening and it was still not fixed 3 days later when we left (looks like someone broke the cable wire) The free bottle of spirits never did appear, and there were a few maintenance issues like light bulbs needing to be replaced etc. This unit was a "kitchenette" unit, but had a full size dishwasher, but there was not many plates and cups to put into the dishwasher. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the property, but I surely hope the maintenance issues get resolved for the next guests and they do get use of the TV and bottle of spirits.

This was our first time in Lisbon and the location was absolutely perfect. We were able to walk everywhere! The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed, there are just a few things that could be improved. We were in unit 4A. The deadbolt does not lock from the inside, the wood floor outside the bathroom has significant damage from the shower, one of the bedside tables was very wobbly, and the staff is unresponsive if you need anything. Despite these things we really enjoyed our stay!

The location of this property was perfect for what my family and I wanted to see. Just a couple blocks from the waterfront and easy to navigate the area on foot. The room was clean and comfortable. It did show some wear and tear (paint missing from spots on the wall as an example) but nothing that looked dirty. It could just use a freshening up. My only disappoint is that I was supposed to receive a bottle of spirits as a VIP perk and I did not.

The apartments were beautiful, clean, and included all amenities we expected. One apartment had an Internet access issue that staff came out to look at right away. While they couldn’t fix the issue on site, it was impressive how quickly they responded. The location is excellent, all major downtown sites are easy walking distance. We would definitely go back.
