    The staff is lovely at the KOKO hotel in Kyoto Sanjo! Every evening when we came back from sightseeing, the staff greeted us happily, there were fresh towels hanging on our door and there is an 24h free drinks service. The hotel room was very good for the price aswell.

    I had a very good stay at this hotel. The location is close to tourist spots and shops. The breakfast is very delicious with local food. The room is very clean and comfortable. The coffee machine is free to use and produces nice matcha latte.

    Overall, the stay was below expectations. While the location is acceptable, it requires a 15–20 minute walk to reach most points of interest, which can be inconvenient. The housekeeping system was somewhat unclear, and in practice the room was rarely serviced during our stay. There also seemed to be a number of strict rules throughout the hotel that limited basic conveniences—for example, even refilling a personal water bottle in the coffee area was not permitted. When we approached the reception with questions, the staff appeared unsure and were not always able to provide clear assistance. In one of our rooms the tv system was locked and they didn’t manage or didn’t try to fix it in the 4 days we were there . We also tried the breakfast once, but unfortunately it did not meet expectations in terms of quality or variety.
