    A warm welcome awaited us. A fascinating boutique hotel where you could never get bored exploring the room. A great concept & everything is presented so well. Very clean, attention to detail & food presentation rivals five star standards. Will forever be a fond memory of my trip to Thailand. Thank you to all staff who make it so special.

    We came back to De Phanakron Boutique on a short layover in Bangkok. It’s a little treasure in the heart of the old historic part of Bangkok. There are no skyscrapers in this area. We like the peaceful and slow pace of life in Phra Nakhon. What it lacks in facilities it makes up for in charm. The staff are so lovely and helpful. The breakfast is served beautifully and we really appreciated the later check-out, it helped us immensely. There are loads of shops, bars and restaurants close by. The decor is very quirky and some of the rooms are not the most practical but you really feel like you’re in old Bangkok. You wouldn’t get anywhere near the same experience in a corporate glass skyscraper. We really enjoyed our stay.

    We were super delighted with our stay here at DE Phanakron Boutique Hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated. Breakfast each day was wonderful and filling. The staff was incredible and friendly. Zen was super helpful and answered all of our questions! The location of this hotel was great. Close to Khao San Road and other restaurants. Not on a direct busy street, but close to where you needed to go. Would highly recommend to anyone!

    In some ways I fault the booking sites for allowing this hotel to claim it’s a 5 star with no evidence. It is not a 5 star by any stretch and we found it lacking enough that we left early and went to another hotel. I am disappointed that despite leaving early and providing feedback to the owners why we left early, no one responded to us. The decor is quirky and was still full of Xmas decor at the end of January. All flowers and plants are fake which is odd given SE Asia’s biggest flower market is next door. Decor in the room was nicely done and it was clean. One set of outlets by the bed didn’t work. The other set only worked when the light was on so there was no way to charge the phone by the bed. Bedding, pillows, etc were just ok. No hot water in the sink so shaving was impossible. Breakfast is ordered the night before. After having seen the typically generous SE Asian breakfasts, this one was very disappointing. My husbands egg Benedict (note the singular as it was a single egg w some salad) was served ice cold. Any attempt to get a new one failed due to language barrier. My breakfast was served 20mins later after he had finished. Jam and butter come in little sealed packets - again not 5 star (and so easy to get right with all the amazing produce in the country.) We left with 2 days still on our booking and took the loss rather than have our trip sullied. We moved to Chakrabongse Villas which was true 5 star and only a little more expensive. Again most disappointing is that management didn’t seem to care enough about someone leaving their suite early to enquire after us.
