Bait and switch ! Agoda versus Hotel.
Paid for my room category guaranteed by Agoda.
Received email confirmation, receipt receipt, and in app showed confirmation of the room category that I booked.
Regardless, I was pushed out of my room into a lower category room because of a booking glitch between 2. Agoda, 2. the hotel and 3. another party that the Hotel uses for booking.
Instead of honoring my booking as agreed, and as I paid for through Agoda, the Hotel kicked me out of the room anyway into a lower category room…
I booked the room appropriately correctly through Agoda.
But I was still asked to get out of my room and step into another room even after telephone calls with Agoda confirming that my room category was correct.
Why? Get this! Because my room category was still showing available on the network and people were trying to book it !! The hotel manager considered couples who wanted the Jacuzzi more important than a single guy already booked and paid in that room with the Jacuzzi!!!
As a single traveler, I paid for the same room that other people wanted. I prepaid info therefore I’m entitled to it. But what did they do?
They still stepped me down into a standard room.
Claimed that I paid for standard room because there was a glitch in the booking system on their side with their agent that put me into a lower category room.
Round and round…
But through Agoda, I had the category of room that I booked.. what’s it going to do for me?
