Hotel Galería Essentia

We stayed here for one night as part of a longer motorcycle trip. Overall, it was reasonable value for money and worked well enough for a short stop. The hotel has a quirky, individual style, which we were aware of before arriving and generally like when done well. It certainly feels different from a standard hotel. The staff member we dealt with was friendly and clearly working hard, handling multiple roles at once, which we appreciated. The location is good for exploring the area. Aracena itself is well worth a visit, particularly the caves and the castle, which made for a really enjoyable stop on our trip. After raising our concerns about the initial room, we were moved without issue, which we appreciated.

The first room we were shown wasn’t to our taste and didn’t match expectations from the photos. The décor was quite unusual, including a very prominent collage-style headboard, which may appeal to some but wasn’t for us. More concerning was that the room didn’t appear to have been fully prepared, with some areas not cleaned to the standard we would expect. While we were moved to another room, the initial experience wasn’t ideal. The replacement room was acceptable for one night, but quite dark, with limited natural light, and felt more functional than comfortable. Overall, the stay felt a little less polished than others on our trip, and while fine for a short stop, it didn’t leave a strong impression.

Clean and modern rooms. Friendly staff, excellent restaurant and a great breakfast included.

My wife didn’t like the headboard in room 2 and the shower tray was cheap plastic! Otherwise perfect.

The gorgeous calm pool area. The big two bedroom apartment. If you are in room 8 by the pool and you don't want to carry your luggage up the stairs, park in the carpark out the back and then you only have to go down one flight of external stairs you will be at your room.

The hotel was very interesting with all it art and design

but there was a very bad smell.
