Collection O Havana Airport Hotel

DO NOT STAY HERE. SERIOUSLY. I have spent roughly 8 years travelling around Asia and internationally, including plenty of budget hotels. I understand what “basic” means. I understand what “cheap” means. I understand that an airport hotel isn't supposed to be the Ritz. This is not “basic.” This is neglect. I genuinely have never stayed in a hotel this filthy. The shower had NO HOT WATER. I reported it. Nothing. The bathroom sink plumbing leaks so badly that the water simply empties onto the floor. I requested toilet paper. Nothing. There was no drinking water and no coffee either. And then there is the cleanliness—or rather, the complete absence of it. The bedding was stained and dirty. Dust and grime were everywhere. Surfaces were sticky. The room smelled strongly of rotting food. The refrigerator was disgusting. Then I opened the bedside drawer. USED CONDOM WRAPPERS. Let that sink in. Used condom wrappers in a drawer that is supposed to be cleaned between guests. The bathroom was somehow worse. I followed the smell and found brown smears all around the toilet and surrounding areas. I cannot tell you exactly what those stains were, and frankly I don't want to know. What I can tell you is that they smelled like old diarrhoea and made the bathroom feel completely unhygienic. The air conditioner is ancient, smells disgusting when switched on, and blows WARM AIR. In 36°C heat. The elevator looks and feels like it has been abandoned. It shakes, is filthy, and has disgusting rubbish/liquid residue on the floor. Furniture is damaged and falling apart. Then there is the security issue. The balconies are connected to each other, while the balcony doors in my room were broken and could not properly lock or even latch. That is not merely unpleasant. That is a security concern. And the staff? Absolutely appalling. Rude. Dismissive. Unhelpful. Basic requests were ignored. At around 7am, the receptionist was literally asleep on a couch in the lobby and I couldn't wake her. The lobby smelled awful. The owner apparently stays on the sixth floor and thinks nothing of leaving her door open while playing loud music, slamming doors and making noise late into the evening. I've photographed these conditions. I honestly don't know how this property can look at itself in the mirror and call itself a hotel. A dirty room can be cleaned. A broken pipe can be repaired. An air conditioner can be replaced. But all of that requires someone to actually give a damn. This place desperately needs someone to do exactly that. If you're considering booking because it's close to the airport, don't make the mistake I made. There are plenty of places in Ho Chi Minh City where you can spend your money without having to wonder whether your room was cleaned at all. I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me. This isn't a hotel. It's a maintenance failure with beds
