Comfortable room, good food (and beer)

Very nice

Clean well equipped room, nice bed, nice shower, good food and drink, friendly staff. As good as a hotel.

I wonderful spot, I'd highly recommend.

Lovely friendly welcome from staff on arrival. Room clean and fresh with coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits provided ! Bed was comfy with great pillows. Breakfast superb with lovely egg Benedict as well as pastries and fruit juice served by another friendly staff member. Easy walk into town. Parking on street close by although nothing resident permit area so only free 6 pm to 10am. Overall fantastic place to stay.

Did not get a cooked breakfast on one day as their gas was off...not a great selection in the continental buffet. Had a very poor meal in the evening..chef clearly in a hurry as pub was busy. Staff and atmosphere were really good though and they did take money off the bill. Parking was in a public pay and display fairly nearby.

What a great place. I was staying mid-week so I can't speak to the weekends, but my room was so quiet despite it being a pub hotel. Everything was clean and well kept, and I had a great night's sleep. Special mention to the breakfast which was exceptional. You order the night before and then it is served freshly made at your time of choosing. I had probably the best Eggs Benedict in my life!

Super easy check in with helpful staff. Our room was spacious, clean, with a quirky entrance that added to the charm. Love love the shower!!

Food and staff absolutely excellent. Bed was rather soft but everything super clean.

Excellent brewery with lovely bedrooms super outdoor eating and drinking as well as a cosy bar and snug. Grand breakfast and dinner and not far to walk to the centre of Bury St Edmunds. Narrow streets so no parking outside but several car parks nearby.

The location of the hotel was really good, around a ten minute walk to a big (and cheap) car park, as well as the town centre. Room was comfortable, breakfast was great.

Very friendly staff and couldn’t do enough for you. Great beers and Loved The Brewery being in the pub. Was an added bonus! Would Definately stay again and recommend to friends and family ,

Staff were very friendly - at all times of the day. Room was clean and a good size. The breakfast was amazing so there was no need to eat lunch. Shame there was no parking but long stay car park was only a 10 minute walk. Would highly recommend.

A lovely place to stay. Lots of character with a lovely food menu. checking in was good with friendly staff. The room was big with everything you need. very comfortable bed. It was a warm night but a nice fan if a bit loud was supplied. Next morning went down for breakfast, this unfortunately was not great. We were told that there was a bit of a wait for the cooked breakfast so we helped ourselves to some cereal and juice. which was nice. The rest of the breakfast turned up at least 30 mins later which looked ok but was a cold so a bit of a shame.. Overall i liked it there and would recommend it ... just get down to breakfast at 8am sharp if you want a hot breakfast

The hotel room was comfortable but the continuous noise outside our window kept us awake. The room didn't have a/c and the hot weather meant we had to have the windows open and the cellar cooling fan was on all the time.

Very good, nice quiet location, clean and tidy, comfortable. Nice buffet and evening meals were good quality. Staff a bit rushed but very helpful and friendly. Pub is very smart with a nice touch being fresh dalias on the tables. Only negative is that parking could be a problem as it is on street and quite busy. Would definitely stay again as I like real ale and the beer festival was only a short walk away.

From check in, to check out the service was superb. The room was what i had requested, the bar/restaurant was a delight and the food delicious. Love this place, charming and quaint all in one.

Tuesday was burger and a pint of there lovely home drew for £15 this day and age an absolute bargain!! Room was comfy had everything that I needed even usb-c sockets ! Lovely and clean

A very comfortable bed and super bedroom with all the facilities needed for a good nights stay. The breakfast was fabulous with a huge choice on offer to suite every taste.

Love the yummy food. The only set back, there were not much choices. However, our stay was great.

I do not recommend this accommodation if you want to sleep. The accommodation is currently next to a large outdoor fridge or freezer, as well as an air conditioning unit. The constant humming is incredibly loud. I even used earplugs but I could still hear the noise. When I mentioned this to the member of staff in the morning that I hadn’t slept at all, I was given an apology but not even a complimentary drink. We had to order the breakfast the night before and then were told in the morning that they had run out of mushrooms (there is a Tesco just down the road). The continental breakfast consisted of fruit juice, cereal and a yoghurt with a fruit component, not what I would consider a continental breakfast. The room was clean with a lovely shower, the bed was comfortable just such a shame about the noise. I would not recommend for anyone to spend a £100 on accommodation where you don’t get any sleep.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Craft beer atmosphere They had the ladies football on the screen outside but it wasn’t rowdy.

Arrived late as had an event after work. Service on arrival superb. Parking a nightmare around there as none at the hotel. Lovely large room with great facilities including coffee machine. My only feedback would be to have a dressing table area with mirror so be able to do your hair and makeup. Mattress was a little too hard for me but still managed to sleep ok. I do think 8am as the earliest you can get breakfast is too late for weekdays, so it was a rush trying to get something to eat before heading off at 8:30 when the food didn’t arrive until just after 8:15. Delicious breakfast though

The place is old. Nothing to do about that, and it is part of the charm. Bed was comfy enough, and the bathroom functional. Difficult to clean very old surfaces. Staff, service and atmosphere good. Beer and food very good. Breakfast was plentiful and very good but could have ben available from 0700.

The room was lovely and the staff really friendly.
