Canal Loft Hotel

Still pricey, but much cheaper than other hotels all around Manhattan. Nothing fancy but does the job if you’re visiting and don’t plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel. Very clean and felt very safe.

Room: clean, modern, big window great for natural light. Bathroom had some molds on the wall so be careful, toilet flushed well, water strength in sink and shower were alright. Bed was a bit squeaky, but comfortable. Hotel has an elevator so that's quite beneficial! Walls are thin from the hallway, but quiet enough between the rooms. Front desk people are good. Alil sketch if you gotta store your bags pre and post check-in check-out as front desk leaves their station, and your luggage will be stored just right behind the counter, no tags, and not in a locked closet. Store with the front desk with caution, but area appears to look quite safe. Front desk doesn't always pick up the phone too, but for the price, you get what you get. Convenience is key here as it is close to the subway, close to a lot of great food in Chinatown and Little Italy. It's a minute walk away from a really good coffee shop, K Roasters, and there appears to be a popular bar or lounge across the street from the hotel. For a solo traveler, or a couple trying to not spend an arm and a leg on room accoomodations, but want a safe, clean, comfortable, and convenient space in New York, i would recommend this place.

This hotel was a 3 star hotel and was adequate for our stay.

The rooms is dark ie. onlyb1 light in the room. No writing chair or desk. Bathroom floor has no drainage as,a result water splash on to floor when shower. The windows are not sound proof, lots of traffic noise. Suggest Females don't wonder out alone after Dark.To top up all these, the 2 female receptionist were Extremely Unfriendly and unapproachable They made our in Canal Loft a very unpleasant one. Please don't book here. There are better hotels down the street.
