Mangos dive resort is a no frills treasure for all. Simple clean rooms at a great price. Great free internet, beachside restaurant, cozy bar with a pool table and beautiful attentive wait staff. They had a trivia night while I was their and many local expats showed up making it a lively event. The dive shop is the best around. I have dove all over the Philippines and surrounding countries. Mangos is always my first stop to get my gear and my head right before adventuring to other locations.

Title: Nice Beach View, but Room Needs Improvement The beach view was nice, but unfortunately, the room itself was not very comfortable. It felt dirty and sticky, and the air conditioning was not working properly. There was also no fan available, so the room became quite warm and we were sweating while sleeping. The location and view were good, but the room definitely needs better cleaning and maintenance.

Well we arrived to a Typhoon which is not their fault. But no wifi internet was down we had to buy our own load. WiFi only started working when we were checking out. I had to pay for ice P50. And because no internet they only accepted cash on delivery not even wait for check out. We were not informed about cash only and I had to go out in the rain to an ATM very inconvenient. For a P4000 room this is not okay. I feel I should be reimbursed some amount for the inconvenience or given a complimentary stay for the trouble. Beach area was small brown sand.

I haven't looked up the dictionary definition of Resort, but we all know what we should be able to expect when we stay at one. Unfortunately Mangos does not qualify in my view. Considering the price we paid, it was a squalid, unpleasant and uncomfortable stay. Don't get me wrong, I've stayed at many budget places over the years, but this is low-budget value for high-cost pricing. When we checked in, we were told - cannot bring outside food into the hotel, because they have a restaurant!! The shower was horribly underpowered - a weak stream of water that was barely warm, and nowhere to attach the shower head - the fixing was broken so it was wash with one hand and hold the shower head with the other. The toilet had that sign that's familiar to many who've stayed in older locations in SE Asia - don't put toilet paper down the toilet. When you've done you business, put the dirty paper into the bin that's next to the toilet. Quality resort, not. If you go out in the evening to socialise, and get to bed late - DONT expect a quiet lie-in the following morning. The cleaning staff are screeching to each other across the courtyard at the crack of dawn, and the diving centre is having scuba tanks delivered, clanging onto the concrete, directly under where we are sleeping. Sleep itself was difficult - the bed itself was rock hard, and the pillows big and lumpy. We both got backache. And NO duvet or comforter - just a single sheet! Maybe an economic measure to encourage us to keep the aircon at 24-25deg all night. The beach is ok for a walk, but is very dirty and rubbish all along it. The local kids swim in it, I'm sure it helps their immune system a lot. We did not risk it. Which added to the disappointment that the 'Resort' does NOT actually have a swimming pool. The staff are lovely and friendly. I don't consider it their fault that the hotel needs management time, and some investment deployed before I would consider this as approaching value for money.
