I was honestly so excited to stay here with my husband and our four-year-old child. We chose Wyndham Grand Phu Quoc mainly because of the pools and children’s facilities. We just wanted a few relaxing days together as a family, but unfortunately, it has been one disappointment after another. From the moment we entered our room, there was a musty smell. Housekeeping came to clean it again, but the smell never really went away. Whenever I turned off the air conditioning or made the room warmer because I was cold, the smell became noticeable again. The room also felt quite old, with bedside lamps that didn’t work, loose electrical sockets and mould in the bathroom grout. We eventually moved to another room, which smelled a bit better, and I do appreciate that. But by then, we had already spent so much time dealing with problems instead of enjoying our holiday. What disappointed me most was the children’s facilities. At the kids’ pool, there are three small slides, but only one was available. The bigger water slides require children to be at least 140 cm tall, and even some climbing equipment inside the kids’ club has the same height restriction. I wish this had been made clearer before booking, especially for families with younger children. Then there was the cigarette smoke smell. The kids’ club is opposite Corona Casino, and both my husband and I could smell cigarette smoke inside the kids’ club. We also noticed it in the surrounding corridors. I simply don’t feel comfortable letting my child play somewhere that smells of cigarette smoke. I spoke to the hotel manager about this. She came with me to the kids’ club but said she couldn’t smell anything herself. She promised to update me the next morning, but she never did. I had to follow up myself and ask for an update. When I asked what would be done, I was told that the concern would be passed on to senior management. I wasn’t given any clear explanation of what action would be taken or when I could expect a response. Even breakfast was frustrating. I asked for fully cooked eggs. The staff said yes, but my request wasn’t actually followed through. It was such a simple request, but communication was difficult. I know no hotel is perfect, and I don’t expect everything to be flawless. But when you book a five-star family resort, you expect a clean, comfortable room and facilities that your child can actually enjoy. Instead, I’ve spent so much of our holiday speaking to staff, explaining the same problems and trying to get things sorted. It’s honestly exhausting. The hotel did offer us another room, but there was no compensation or other solution offered for the overall experience. I’m writing this because I always read reviews from other families before booking a hotel, and I wish I’d known these things beforehand. Sadly, this hasn’t felt like the relaxing family holiday we were looking forward to. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend Wyndham Grand Phu Quoc to families with young children.

Best resort for the price...I booked it for 7500 in sep 1026 ....and its completely worth it, amazing activities for the kids and amazing foam party experience.

Pros- the beach was stunning. Great location and transport to grandworld, theme park and safari. Kids loved water slides. Cons- my parents Agoda booking was not in their system, ( but ours luckily was) they had to pay a huge amount to stay there. The hotel did not honour the Agoda price- despite having a confirmation email. Rooms were very basic. Pool area and breakfast were really hectic. School camp vibes.
