    It was a busy weekend in around Sakon Nakhon with limited availability for hotels, we found a room at Sakon Grand Palace which is only Grand by name . It's like stepping back in time into your worst nightmare.. I'll say the room was big which is the only plus I can give it, sitting on the pillow was the biggest cockroach 🪳 I've ever seen and a lot of droppings on the counter sides around the vases full of dusty, dirty fake flowers. They did change us to another room a big is the plus a can give that room too, oh and minus the cockroaches. Dirty windows, peeling wall paper, chipped and flacky paint, a shower tap that wouldn't work properly and never stopped dripping. And the 20 baht for the coffee sachets just made the stay..
