Anand Kashi By The Ganges, Rishikesh – IHCL SeleQtions

We stayed for a week at Anand Kashi and had an excellent experience. Vijay (and initially Saurabh) at the reception took good care of us starting from our check-in and throughout our stay. We took their car for sightseeing and chauffeur Devender was very knowledgeable about all the local places and provided us excellent service. Pankaj/June and Chef Rajendar at the restaurant really catered to our culinary needs. Nikhil at Security provided us protection from the monkeys which I can say is the only negative at the resort. Even though we had a balcony with an excellent view of the Ganges, we had to be watchful of our surroundings as wild monkeys would appear all of a sudden. The resort folks do try to chase them away but they would come back occasionally. So, having food sitting on the balcony is a definite “no”. The view from the resort is truly breathtaking and to be a part of Ganga Aarti every evening is divine. Overall, we highly recommend stay at this resort.

Superb location and a very tranquil setting. All staff were very helpful and courteous. The room had an amazing view and overlooking the river. Could not have asked for more.

We booked family grand room. However, we were given a room that was completely different from the photos of the room that is in description. While the room could fit 3 adults and was as big, the decor of the room resembled the rooms with earthly decor. This was initially disappointing. The room as per photos were all booked out. The management went above and beyond in service to make up for this change and after 3 nights we were given the room that is shown in photos. Having compared both rooms, we found the original room (earthly decor) was more practical with small kids as this room was completely flat and did not have any stairs. the rooms that are shown in photos has stairs. Also the original room (with earthly decor) had TV facing the bed which kids and us much referred. I would highly advise that whoever gets this earthly decor room as family grand room and while this may not be what you expected, this room may be better for what you need as a family.
