We honestly cannot fault our stay here. The staff, although they said they spoke little English, they were incredibly helpful! The room is what you pay for. It was spacious and had its own private bathroom and it was clean. The room also provided you with towels and some toiletries/toothbrushes which was very handy. The hostel is situated right next to the train line but having said this, we had no disturbance from the trains passing through. In fact I think we even forgot we were next to a train line at one point.
The accommodation is a short 10-15 minute walk into main Avila. There you can see/visit the Walls of Avila, the Cathedral and many other beautiful historic spots. Every morning we went to a little cafe, just across from the hostel, I think it was called Costellos? But it was so lovely and very reasonably priced.
The locals are very friendly and helpful and Avila as a whole just felt so safe. We would definitely stay here again if we were to visit.
