The pool was very dirty and the area was uninviting, pidgeon droppings everywhere..Feathers and excrement in the pool water. Water treatment must consist of more than just throwing a cupful of chlorine into the pool upon closing the area at night time

Nothing special about the hotel. It is exactly as described.
Comfortable, friendly staff, comfortable bed. Good air conditioning.
Didn't have time to see the breakfast which was included.

A convenient 6-7 minute walk from the Chumphon train station. Was greeted by very friendly front desk staff. Very helpful in answering all my questions. And made arrangements for airport transfer the very next day (at a very fair price!). Room was quite large and clean, with good views over the city. Later in the evening one of the staff volunteered to give me a ride on the back of a motorbike to the outdoor market. Also, there are a handful of bars and restaurants along the same street.
My only criticism was the breakfast, which was marred by a bit of an ant problem. No worries, because there was a 7-11 very close by with plentiful food and good coffee.
