The listing itself is problematic as it does not state that this is an apartment with no concierge. When I paid for the booking I received an automated confirmation stating that a registration email would be sent - despite repeated requests this never arrived. A week before I arrived I had to contact Hotels.com to receive any information about check in. Although clean, the apartment is bare and slightly shabby - the shower rail is held together with sellotape, the furniture is scuffed. The power socket for the kettle & microwave did not work. The other power sockets are not compatible with any non Swiss plug and it was impossible to find an adaptor in any local shops. As a business traveller this was disastrous. Small things like no washing up sponges or hand soap added to the disappointment. Could do better.

We turned up and there wasnt any air-conditioning, which was ok but given that it was over 30degrees, we just needed a fan. We had to fix the tv and once going, couldn't get any channels. The pillows were non existent at best, and there weren't any spares. There was only bath towel for the 2 of us. There was a shower over the bath, but very dangerous as there were no handles to assist getting in or out. The shower head was broken. With a bit of thought and effort, this could be a great property as its in a good location.

It was a terrible experience from start to finish. The flat reeked of smoke, communication with the host was awful, and to top it off, there were large spiders. I reported the issues to both Hotels.com and the host, but the experience was beyond disappointing. Would not recommend.

The apartment is very comfortable. It is not fancy, but provides everything you would expect from a short term apartment rental. A super market and tram line are within a few minutes walk. About ten minute walk into downtown Basel.

Great location for my needs (near office). Good space and value for money. Not luxury by any stretch of the imagination, but clean, functional and the beds were comfortable. Very close to the river, so nice opportunities for walking and relaxing alongside it. Wifi was an issue. When I eventually got access (I had to pay - it was not free as advertised) it was patchy.

The location was good but the building was of 5 floors without an elevator and we were in the fifth floor which was very difficult for carrying the luggages. The was no parking for the car and had to pay €2 every 90 min from 8 am till the time we are out. The floor of the apartment was old and noisy. There was no air conditioner so we open the window and the road was very noisy. On our check out, we were ready at 10:30 am but the people for cleaning the apartment were standing on the door and asked for €5 additional to wash the plates in the kitchen !!

obtaining key by using the code worked well - the room number is on the key (which I did not notice at first as it was dark) so was confused as to which room was mine. all worked well, spacious and good kitchen. not in centre but easy access by tram. good location for the work I was doing.

First I was not int informed the apartment was on the 5th floor without a lift. If known I would not book it at all. On arrival when tried to collect the key the code given was not working. Had to call them and given another no. which worked. This process took about ten minutes to complete. Then I called to ask whether we can get another apartment in a lower floor of the block. I was passed on to several people and at last told they will call back in 5 minutes. We were waiting on the road outside for 45 minutes, but no one called. They didn't have the courtesy to tell us that they were unable to offer an alternative. I tried to call but the receptionist didn't want to say what's going on, she just passed the call to someone who never spoke! I had to spend a lot for telephone calls, which needs to be added for my cost of the room. At the end we decided to do the climbing, and it stopped us going out for dinner. When tried to cook there wasn't a pan big enough to cook for 4 people although the place is for 4. No dish washing liquid or sponge to clean. Very basic facilities, unhelpful and disappointing management/staff. Although it says washing machine available, there wasn't one to be seen. No one to ask.

The stay was nice. The did not work and we had to fix it with a rubber band. Also the water pressure was pretty bad, so we took baths instead. It was nice flat besides these things.

At first I was impressed by the size of the apartment - two large bedrooms, full eat-in kitchen and bathroom with a nice tub. However, the longer I was there, the more dirty I realized it was - cob webs in the corners, coffee-drip stains of the white walls, table & chairs, the stainless was spotty and in need of Windexing, glass doors to the balcony full of finger-prints, etc. The hot water took forever to heat up and only got hot after I resigned myself to a cold shower. The power outlets were not the standard size and my adapters wouldn’t fit - so I had to fly 12 hours the next day without charged gadgets which wasn’t their fault, but something to be aware of if you are an international traveler. Also, the apartment is on the 5th floor - no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs or have a lot of luggage, this could be an issue. When I’ve stayed in apartments booked on this site, they felt like hotel rooms in the sense that they were meant for short-term guests…but this felt like someone’s home who had just vacated and simply changed the towels and bed linens. I’d book on airBnB if I wanted to stay in someone’s home. I would not stay here again.

The apartment was central and easy to find. It was clean and spacious but not suitable for people who do t like stairs as it was on the 5th floor. Heating did not work but did not need it. Self service only. To expensive for what it was for 2 nights but that's Switzerland. Overall 7/10 did the job.

Stayed one night before an early flight home. Lovely bright apartment, clean and easy to access. No problems at all. Would recommend.
