It smelled like cigarettes when walking into lobby. Television did not have a remote control. Front desk personnel was no help and said he would get it fixed the next day. Nothing was done with the television and no waters rooms for us to switch rooms. So two days and no television. And no concern for helping or getting a remote programmed for the television. No buttons on the television to even use manually. Piss poor help!

When checking out the night clerk told me I could not get a recipe nor could he tell me how much I owed. I then turned to my wife and asked her which was worse to deal with. This person or the scorpion I had in my bathroom. The clerk then told me to leave HIS lobby. I will not be staying at candlewood anywhere again sincerely John Lyons

I, arrived at 5:34pm only to be informed after I checked in that my room was being cleaned and it was “almost “done. About 20 minutes later, front desk informed me the room was ready and the cleaning staff was shorthand. I walked into my room and a cleaning lady was already in my room, she quickly positioned herself in front of me preventing me any further. From the appearance of the room -it lacked plenty of attention (as the bed was not close to being made). So, I took all my things back down to the lobby and waited till 6:45 pm to finally move into my room. While waiting in the lobby two of the cleaning staff were walking in and out of the building and by the language they were using with one another, it was some type of work drama (cussing). Customers were waiting for someone at the front desk as she was never seen. I spoke with hotels.com agent and informed what was currently taking place . The agent attempted several times to make contact via phone but yet still no answer. The bed was not fully complete as if they put the sheets and top cover in a hurry. I understand the cause of being shorthanded but all I saw was poor management and poor work ethic from the staff. I will no longer stay or recommend this place

The area is great and the check in was good unfortunately the cleanliness of our room was lacking and the smell from the dirty carpets. You can’t walk barefoot or you will have sticky nasty dirt on your feet. Also the hallways as soon as you come from the lobby towards the rooms the smell is terrible. I have stayed here in the past and it use to be one of my favorite; don’t know what happened change of management but the cleaning is not what it use to be. This is turning out to be another run down La Quinta.

The hotel was ok. It would be a decent place to stay if you were needing somewhere long term. They had a VERY strong plug-in in the room. I assume they were trying to cover up a smell. The bathroom smelled like a sewer after we showered so I'm assuming that was the issue.

Booked this hotel after finding out the hotel we originally booked in the area was super gross by another company. Pet friendly, super friendly staff. Beautiful rooms and clean soft bed. Highly recommend - will be back if we need a hotel in the area.

Our stay was fine. We slept well. Staff was friendly. Room was not as clean as I like. There is literally no common space beyond a sofa and tv. Breakfast options included only few packaged breakfast items, which you pay for and take back to your room. I booked this hotel in a hurry in an emergent situation. It was ok, but probably would not choose it again.

I was in San Angelo visiting my son who is attending Angelo State University. Everything at you hotel was as it should be. I know that doesn't sound like a rave review but for me it is. I don't expect a lot when traveling...just what you promise. And that is what I got. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. But the thing that made this trip stand out is that I left a very expensive watch in my room and I was barely 10 miles out of town when my phone rang. I almost didn't answer it but thankfully did. It was the manager on duty saying that the person cleaning the room had found my watch. I believe her name was Rosalita or something close to that. I turned around and drove back to the hotel to retrieve my watch. They had my watch ready for me when I arrived. I thanked everyone for their honesty, gave the lady that found it a $100 and got on my way. Please recognize them for this act of kindness because it is hard to find these days.

We stayed at the location for one night. The hotel photos do not depict the room quality we experienced. The decor seemed outdated and old. This made the room feel dirty. There was a grease mark on the headrest part of the chair in the room which made us not want to sit on anything. My wife nearly wanted to sleep in our car due to the conditions of the room. This seemed to be a long-term stay type hotel with kitchenette and full refrigerator. There was a sewage smell coming from the bathroom so we had to close the door. We were so tired from our travels, we didn't bother complaining about the condition, we just wanted to sleep.
