    On entering the Inn the first thing you noticed was the awful smell of damp this lingered around the whole of the lower areas, bar, restaurant entrance area and staircase to the second level. Our double room however did not have a damp smell and was decorated with both modern and old furnishings. There was a radiator in the room but this did not heat the room but there was an electric heater that we had to have on all the time to maintain an adequate temperature. The bathroom was Baltic with an electric heater on the wall which did nothing the shower was also electric and fluctuated between hot and cold never a happy medium which resulted in me feeling chilled and having to lie under the quilt to warm up. It is an old building with very thick walls which could have contributed to the lack of warmth in the building. The service from staff was excellent and the food was outstanding both in the evening and at breakfast with great choices on the menu to suit everyone. Thankyou for a good stay.

    Paid in advance for 2 nights but left after just one due to very run down state of room. Carpets were filthy, shower was full of black mould, bed was extremely lumpy and uncomfortable with springs sticking through, and fusty damp smell in room and adjoining corridors/staircase. Only positive was the delicious breakfast.

    Lovely country pub, with clean rooms! Staff are friendly! Drinks slightly over priced, meals are lovely but potions are small and took nearly 30 mins to get the desert after the main course & kept having to go to the bar to put in the food orders as staff didn’t come to the table! Breakfast was fine ! Small potion again and even though it was 9am they had run of of stuff items that are meant to be with a full English breakfast
