Hotel located 5-10 minutes drive to the beach, depending which one you choose. We were on the -th floor with a private balcony...very much appreciated...we were on the street side, it would have been nicer on the parking side with city and ocean views.

We booked through HomeAway and found the property reasonably easily. However, it took a while for instructions to arrive by email and when we arrived early on Sunday afternoon there was nobody around and the signage seem to imply that the reception was not staffed after midday. After trying to ring the help number on the door we eventually managed to attract the attention of the receptionist, who was there but the reception grille was pulled down. She then made us wait for 15 minutes and eventually we were able to check-in. Everything was fine until we got home on the second evening of our stay and the entry card did not work. It was 10 o’clock in the evening and we had an early start the next morning. Again we had to phone the number on the door and this time got through to a central call centre, who informed us there were no staff in the building and a security company would have to be called to let us into our room, with a wait of 40 minutes! Fortunately we did not have to wait that long, but it was half an hour which was extremely inconvenient. Why are there no staff in a building of this size during the night!? If there is ever a fire we shudder to think what would happen! We spoke to the receptionist when we left on the final morning of our stay and there was no apology, she just said she did not know why the card had not been activated. Presumably because she hadn’t activated it! We found the communication very poor indeed and would not stay again. As a result we would question using HomeAway again too. When you are travelling in a foreign country and do not know your way around all the rules it is very dIsconcerting to come across very bad communication and poor service like this.
