Fantastic! I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Diaz. The Beautiful rolling countryside and coastline reminicent of North Yorkshire on a rare hot day! I made new friends! :) However, the village is somewhat isolated unless you have access to a car. The slow pace may well suit some. Unfortunately, the local railway servicing the smaller villages was abandoned some 15 years ago, in favour of the high-speed intercity railway, which is limited to servicing major towns and cites only. The bus service cannot replace the value of rail travel. With parallel to the disasterous mistake the British government made in the 1960's. (See: " The Dr. Beeching Report".) This lack of funding for local transport can only cripple the economy. The now defunct village station of Mykrygialos stands proudly as a recent relic of a bygone age. Though once you find transport, you will unlock a tremendous trip from the coast to Mount Olympus and beyond.

the hotel is very well situated in the villiage, 3 minutes from the beach. Nearby are many shops and restaurants. The hotel is a typical 2* property. It is clean and the manager is friendly. But the rooms are small and the beds are not comfortable. We use it as an overnight stay on our way to the Corfu island. We'll not choose it again, but if you look for a one or two nights and if the price is a concern to you, you may consider this property.
