Unforgettable stay

We had such a wonderful time at Olive hill! Everything was cozy, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The little touches and attention to detail made our stay extra special. The location was perfect—peaceful, yet close enough to explore the area easily. The hostess Marianthi is a sophisticated lady, welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to come back!

One of a kind

The place is one of a kind. It’s quiet, the view is breathtaking, the villa is perfect, equipped with everything you need. We were all amazed and delighted with the whole experience. Marianthi is a lovely and kind host. We all loved meeting her. It’s perfect for 8 people because you can enjoy the whole villa for yourselves. The beach is around 12 minutes drive from the villa. Highly recommended!

Spacious, well furnished apartments with great views.

The host was charming, very helpful and communicated very well. She has excellent English. We were welcomed with a lovely homemade cake and a bottle of local wine. The apartments were spacious, very clean and comfortable and are as pictured inside. They would be prefect for adults or families with older children who want to eat out all the time. When we had a query for the host she was always responsive and helpful. The information provided about the beaches and surrounding area was very useful. The restaurant recommended in the nearby town was excellent for lunch and the beaches were beautiful.

The apartments are located up a very steep , narrow and pretty much unmade road so the drive up is not super easy. We had our little grandson with us who had just turned two and hadn’t anticipated the fact that the small grassy area of garden had lots of steep drops and steps and was really unsafe for young kids. Equally the steps up to our apartment were steep with no rail so we had to try to block them off when inside with him. Having a small child with us meant we wanted to cook in the evenings when he was in bed. We found the crockery, knives, bbq equipment and utensils very limited. The host did lend us some of her knives and bbq tools which we appreciated. There were no full size dinner plates for example. Most places we have stayed in provide some cooking basics like oil but there were not any here. We also expected there to be a washing machine and dishwasher. Our fault for not reading the list of facilities, but they are pretty standard these days. We had to make a special request for beach towels which were not usually provided as standard. The host did get some for us and we had to agree to pay a deposit for them. We had no problem with this, but again it was unusual as most holiday homes provide them automatically. We did enjoy our stay and as said above it would be a great place for people without young children who use it as a base to explore the area and eat out a lot.

Beautifully designed with unique character, extremely cozy, quite and picturesque location. It just makes you stay there and enjoy the evenings and the mornings, without any rush to go to the beach. And Marianthi is the loveliest owner and host!

The Olive Hill is a true gem - only place I would stay again in the Kavala region.

We had a really pleasant stay. Marianthi has done an excellent job restoring her old house and making it a charming guesthouse. The beds were very comfortable, the apartment was well-decorated and clean, the products and linens she provides are organic and locally sourced, and the setting is serene. It has an amazing view as well. I can’t wait to return next year for longer.
