Alexander Mansion Bed and Breakfast

Incredible!! The hosts were the most gracious we have met and clearly love Winona and their home. The food: fantastic. A wine reception, sherry for a nightcap, Irish cream and chocolate for bedtime, and a brilliant home-prepared 4-course breakfast event. No detail was spared in our room or common areas. We could not recommend this stay more highly.

If I could give this B&B 10 stars, I would. Richard has thought of everything. We got there past the normal check in time a bit stressed by very long waits due to road work. Richard greeted us with a glass of wine, gave us a tour of the mansion and phoned a nearby restaurant to ensure that they would still serve us dinner. Our room was lovely and there was Irish cream and chocolates waiting for us before bed. The breakfast in the morning was incredible. We were sorry we could only stay one night!

Fabulous restored 1880's mansion. Richard is very attentive and will give you a tour of the place when you arrive. The Expedia listing did not note that our particular room (Martha) had a bathtub but no shower. Also, the double bed, in a period bedframe, was on the small side. We're flexible, it was fine. Full, delicious breakfast but it is at a set time and is coursed out, so it lasts a while. Worth it, but you may want to plan your morning accordingly. I would stay again, but probably in one of the larger rooms with a shower.

Richard and David are extraordinary hosts for this one on a kind experience. The breakfast was not to be believed. We have stayed here three years in a row and the town and hospitality keeps on bringing us back. 11/10!
