Basic accommodation near Clifford Tower. No luggage storage and no car park.

Clean room, nice bathroom, kettle included, have to collect extra tea, coffee etc from main desk. It was quiet being above weatherspoons pub but only because it was shut for refurbishment. So no idea if it usually is quiet. Lovely pub across the road to the right was great for meals. Lovely view from the window. 2 mins walk from Clifford tower.
The ali-gs pizza shop and a curry restaurant opposite the tower were good and priced great, took pizza back to our room in the evening. Tesco extra is 5 mins to the left of the hotel. Which was great for an afternoon picnic in the hotel as it was 34° outside, too hot to walk anywhere to eat. We did do the emporium opposite but not as big as expected, would be good for littler ones, a bit pricey too.
Local attractions- didn't think much of Clifford tower, or the museum, and the vikings museum was pretty rubbish too. Expensive for what you got.
But the ghost walk around the town was funny and entertaining. £16 for me and my 13 yr old. Met outside kings arms pub. 10 mins walk away. Best part of our trip was the York dungeons, so good we went twice. £36 for the two of us. Also less than 10 mins walk from hotel.
I would use Travelodge again.

Always stay here when in York. Close enough to walk into town and near to Q park car park.
