    I stayed at the Travellers Inn recently and came away with mixed feelings, but overall I hope to see this property succeed\. The biggest thing holding it back sure isn’t the staff, it’s the condition of the building\. The rooms are in need of updating\. The rooms needs fresh paint, carpet removed because 🤮 updated electrical outlets/lighting\. The bathrooms desperately need updating, shower head should be replaced \- water came out fifty directions none of which were the middle, I had to run around the 3x3 shower to get wet and rinse off, the linens \.\. were really bottom of the barrel , the towel barely covered my butt cheek and new toilets and toilet seats\.\. maybe tuck those water lines behind the drywall and immediately replace the exhaust fan that looked like a health hazard\. A little fit and finish\.\. trim, paint, outlet and lighting, even some generic flooring would really make a huge difference\. None of these are extravagant renovations, but together they would make a huge difference in how the property feels\. I know people that would have walked right out the door when they walked in\. That said, the people working here are absolutely top notch\. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wanted guests to have a good stay\. You can tell they’re doing everything they can with what they have \(kind of polishing a turd\.\.\) I also had the pleasure of meeting the relatively new owner, and he was one of the nicest young men you could hope to meet\. He clearly cares about the property and the guest experience, and I genuinely hope he continues investing in improvements because I think this place has a lot of potential\. The location is convenient and the price is hard to beat\. Like many budget accommodations, the surrounding area has its share of colourful characters, but I never felt unsafe during my stay\. If the owner continues making steady improvements, even small ones, I think the Travellers Inn could become a fantastic value option\. For now, it’s an honest, affordable place with exceptional staff that deserves credit for making the best of an older property
